Was Bobby Lee calling the game for the Brits?

Didn't catch a name, but evidently the press box has full view of what goes on in the opposing team's huddle.  He described the plays in full as they were being drawn up.  I'd have to think you'd need binoculars to be as accurate as he was being....

I will admit I was a big supporter of Matt Neil getting the job and have been pleased and happy for him for this year's success.

But with that said, I wonder what other posters think with maybe a "less" bias opinion.

Thoughts?
I, too, have been impressed by Coach Neil's demeanor and success (after injury losses to 3 top players), but also by his press comments, which continue GVW's positivity.  An example:  After the WGVU game, the announcer asked him whether the win made him "proud of your guys."  His quick answer (as I recall):  "I'm proud of my guys whether they win or lose."

P.S. Science note to the few of you, including my kindred spirit KnightSlappy, who might be interested in a cognitive science explanation of hot-hand perceptions. . . though this article's byline isn't right (b/c streaks do exist, even if often misinterpreted):  http://www.sciencenews.org/view/feature/id/69243/title/In_the_Zone

I'll take this opportunity to again say how impressed I continue to be with the Dew Crew.  Thanks for showing us all what great, spirited, loud, organized, POSITIVE fans are all about.  The most dirisive things we heard all day were the good natured "Carrie's better" chant towards Tom, and one instance of Air-ball.

The Dew Crew does a good job but it's time to retire the "Carrie's better" chant. It's been around since Tom was in high school and was clever and humorous the first couple of times I heard it. Now its a pretty worn cliche'.

Yes, I turned to the guy standing next to me and said, here comes the 'Carrie's better' chant. You can pretty much set your watch by it.

Have to agree that its become predictable, and that its worn out.  I must also confess that "there's no hope" really just makes us laugh because its more than worn out and much less than clever.   Ah well, I don't expect my 2 cents to change either chant.   :D

Re: "Carrie's better" chant.

I can't help wondering until what age the chant was true! ;)  I'm gonna guess Tom was at least 14 or 15 until he could whup her! ;D

I would agree with that, too.  Not only is it worn out, it just doesn't make common sense.  Of course there is hope, because almost every Rivalry game comes down to the wire...

Well, Wednesday night sure might get interesting.  Has the whole slate of league games ever been postponed?  Would they move all the games to Thursday?

I think 2006 saw a slate of Saturday games rescheduled for a Monday.

Edit:  It was the Feb. 3 games in 2007 that were moved to Monday Feb. 5.

Not sure if you've been to Albion or not, but I was down there for the MIAA Championship-clinching socccer game, and then went over to volleyball afterwards, and the gym has a maybe 10 foot balcony right above the scorers table extending out to the beginning of the benches, dependig on where they were set up on the balcony  it could be a perfect view right into the team huddle...

Congrats to the Flying Dutchment for a "HUGE" victory on Saturday.

As I have been watching this team this season and especially the past 4 games, the thought has come into my mind, "How would this team be performing and what would be their record/results if GVW was still the coach?"

I will admit I was a big supporter of Matt Neil getting the job and have been pleased and happy for him for this year's success.

pointless to speculate, just enjoy this years team.[/b][/u]

To my friends and miaa interpretors of messages (Pat, Ziggy & Civic Minded):

Wonder if the response, "Pointless to speculate......."

Is this being a richard?  Or is this ok, because Hall of Famer's opinions rule?

It's OK because it's an asked question. You asked for thoughts and he gave his answer.

Your perceived 'richard' move was an unsolicited response in which you used language that could be generally interpreted as accusatory. Don't worry about it though. Tone doesn't come through on print very well, so if you say you weren't being a 'richard' about, we'll stop interpreting it that way.

I don't know if any Hope fans have looked at KnightSlappy's blog, but it's very good. He has some interesting data from Saturday's game.

It would be nice if some intrepid Hope grad started something like that. Imitation being the sincerest form of flattery and all.

Hope with 2 votes in latest poll. I'm thinking that's a little low after the three games Hope just played.

They beat 2 teams 1 game over .500 and 1 team 3 games under.500 in OT.

Boy, over the past day and a half the positive karma is just flowing like a raging river, its just one big lovefest on the MIAA board right now  ::).  It's almost getting to be like too much PDA, I'm not sure if I can take anymore of this everyone getting along and complimenting each other openly on witty posts, observations and opinions.  What's going on?   ;D :D
