Does Calvin have difficulty scoring points?

Considering Calvin's record is now 10-9 we know at least 9 games in which they scored an inadequate amount to win. ;)

Yup, just like RichRod got fired from Michigan b/c his offense wasn't quite good enough to outscore the opposition most fall Saturdays.

Was Bobby Lee calling the game for the Brits?

Didn't catch a name, but evidently the press box has full view of what goes on in the opposing team's huddle.  He described the plays in full as they were being drawn up.  I'd have to think you'd need binoculars to be as accurate as he was being....

Not sure if you've been to Albion or not, but I was down there for the MIAA Championship-clinching socccer game, and then went over to volleyball afterwards, and the gym has a maybe 10 foot balcony right above the scorers table extending out to the beginning of the benches, dependig on where they were set up on the balcony  it could be a perfect view right into the team huddle...

Yep, been there for many a game, and you're right about the set up.  I guess I just never thought about the "vulnerability" of the opposing team there, and would think the distance would still be pretty far for someone to see what was being described.  Guess not!   ;D :D

They've upped the expected snowfall totals in Lansing to 14" and have started comparing things to 1978.  This is not good.

I'm not expecting any basketball tomorrow night.

They've already canceled the Rochester at Kzoo womens game for tonight and its not even snowing right now.

Hope with 2 votes in latest poll. I'm thinking that's a little low after the three games Hope just played.

They beat 2 teams 1 game over .500 and 1 team 3 games under.500 in OT.

There are teams with identical records getting more votes that have not gone 12-1 in their last 13, are not 10-2 vs D3, and have not played a more difficult schedule than Hope according to Massey.  Some aren't even leading their league.

I'm not advocating Hope should be in the top 25, only that I think 2 votes is pretty light compared to other teams with similar records.

Calvin's administration seems to value the "non basketball character building blah blah blah"  more than they do winning games so one should not waste anytime even contemplating a RichRod like fate in this situation.

Sadly it is commom to use this type of sop to cover abysmal performance.

Sop:  "  A sop is a piece of bread soaked in a liquid."
Abysmal  "extremely or hopelessly bad"

When one compares the w/l ratio of the home team in the De Voss versus the VNA it is considerable.  It is strange to think that losing a game somehow is better at building character than winning the same game, but that is the pap one gets. :( :( :( :(

Even on tv it looked like Hope had as much character at the end of the game, frankly much more, than Calvin.

Is it possible that this number indicates a general lack of respect for the entire MIAA?

What is your basis for this statement?  The fact that KVS is still the coach?

One of the most ridiculous pieces of crap I've read.  That's quite an accomplishment based on your other postings.

It is an opinion based on hearing the comments of senior administrators.

Does this mean you are satisfied with the men's basketball teams record since the VNA has opened?

Ah, the Blizzard of 78, my most memorable and long-lasting birthday. It's the storm by which all other difficult West Michigan winter weather has been measured and all of them have been a distant second place. It was the only year of my life I owned a four wheel drive--a 73 Blazer that drove like a tank--and I got stuck on 28th Street by Woodland Mall of all places.

I agree with those senior administrators. KVD's values are all screwed up. He can't spell worth beans.

I'm satisfied with 2 MIAA championships in the last 2 years there.

I'm dissatisfied with statements like "even on tv it looked like Hope had more character at he end of the game."   Where do you come up with that BS?
I don't think a Hope fan or Calvin fan that was there had any thought like that.  Hope got some momentum and played well.  Calvin didn't.

You seem to be advocating for KVS's dismissal.  He's won 3 championships in five years.  I'm sure he's disappointed that they haven't been to the tournament.  You calling their performance abysmal is a head scratcher.
