Bad time for a T... Not that there is a "good" time.

Good thing the "top 4 in the league make the MIAA tourney, the bottom 4 teams' seasons are over" deal won't apply to this season.  Jees

Congrats. to Hope for winning the MIAA.

I hate it when that happens.

Amen to that, but they did what they had to do, when it had to be done. :)

The league roundup

Kalamazoo 76 Alma 56

Pretty comfortable win, double-digits whole second half, good night from behind the arc for the Hornets 11-20

Kzoo:  Prepolec 18, Miller 16, Ghafari 10
Alma:  Silverthorn 11

Trine 72 Albion 68

Pretty wild ending, Albion rallied from 11 down to lead by 7, then Trine scored the final 11 points of the game in the last 3 minutes to win.

Albion:  Cruse 21, Harville 11, Kazan 11
Trine:  Jackson 28, Pearcy 15

Adrian 75 Calvin 63

Looks like Adrian led from midway through the first half on.  Double digits alot of the 2nd half, late rally by Calvin thwarted by the Bulldogs.  Adrian 12-21 from beyond the arc to Calvin's 6-20

Adrian:  Barnes 16, Gallant 13, Mosley 13, Reed 13
Calvin:  Snikkers 19, Powell 11

Hope 63 Olivet 60

Tight game all the way, biggest lead for Hope 5, Olivet 3. 14 ties.  Bowser and Tanis combined for 8 points 4-22 shooting, the rest were 21-38 shooting.

Olivet:  McClary 21, 13 rebounds, Mack 12, Edsall 10
Hope:  Neil 17, Krombeen 12, Dickerson 10, Snuggerud 10

Standings  +1 for road win/-1 for home loss

Hope    10-1     +4
Calvin   6-5       0
Olivet   6-5       +1
Albion   6-5      +1
Adrian  6-5       +1
Kzoo    6-5       +1
Trine    3-8       -3
Alma    1-10     -5

Saturday, February 12
Trine at Olivet, 3 p.m.
Alma at Calvin, 3 p.m.
Hope at Adrian, 3 p.m.
Kalamazoo at Albion, 7:30 p.m.

The wins and losses fall Hope's way again tonight, and with them the Dutchmen claim the 2011 MIAA Championship.  Second place is now a five way tie which this late in the season is just remarkable.  Saturday only has one match up of those 5 teams.  A quick glance at the games remaining shows Olivet and Calvin have the best schedules remaining as neither has to play Hope.  Albion probably has the toughest finish.  I think Trine might factor in this with another win or two just to shake things up.  Sure looks like 2nd place is going to come right down to the end of the season and everything will fall in line after that.  Any win by Adrian, Albion or Kzoo over Hope would be huge for tournament seedings.

Hope is still playing for Pool C and NCAA placement.

Here's what everyone has remaining

Hope:   @ Adrian, Albion, @ Kzoo
Calvin:  Alma, @ Trine, @ Albion
Adrian:  Hope, @ Alma, Trine
Olivet:  Trine, @ Kzoo, Alma
Albion:  Kzoo, @Hope, Calvin
Kzoo:   @ Albion, Olivet, Hope

Alma:   @Calvin, Adrian, @Olivet
Trine:   @Olivet, Calvin, @ Adrian

Question of the night

Does anybody know the last time Adrian swept Calvin in the regular season?

Happy Calvin Guy

Wow, congrats to Coach White and Adrian tonight.  They put on a clinic at Van Noord.  They were patient for the right shot, hit the open shots, and make you work for EVERYTHING.  Snikkers earned his 18 tonight.  KVS seemed strangely subdued tonight during the game, and even got called to the carpet a bit by Wentworth on the post game show.  After KVS said he was happy with the effort, Doug told him that he was sugarcoating it, and told him that he got beat a team that's not that great, Adrian at 6-5.  I think KVS was taken aback by the question.

I'm a big fan of Coach White. Positive, energetic, disciplined, has fun.  Only saw him question the refs once.  Great sportsmanship.  I think Adrian is a program to watch out for in years to come.
