Trine at Adrian, 3 p.m.

http://miaa.org/mbb/stats/1011/0126adtr.htm

Trine rallied to make this close late.  This was back when Ian Jackson was 'slumping' a little bit.  Will be interesting to see if the result is different and Jackson produces as he has the last few games.

Adrian has the most to play for as far as the tournament goes, they can still end up with a home game.  They will either draw Calvin who they've beaten twice, Albion who they split with or Olivet who they've lost to twice.

Can Adrian still get the #4? I think I figured out before that they could, and you've said they could, but right now I can't figure it out.

They'd need Olivet to lose to Alma, but Olivet holds the 2-0 head to head record with Adrian.

If Olivet, Kalamazoo, and Adrian tied, Kzoo would get the #4 by virtue of the win over Hope.

-----------------------

IMO, the "most likely" seeding is:

4. Olivet
5. Adrian
6. Kalamazoo

That would give the Calvin/Albion winner Trine, and the loser Kzoo.

Would Adrian's 2 wins over Calvin give them any advantage over Olivet should they end up tied, or does head to head come first?

Sometimes I hate tie-breakers

I believe I figured the tie-breakers out and may have retracted the Adrian can get the #4 spot and then just simply forgotten about it.

If someone wants to search my archived posts be my guest, unfortunately I'm on my way out the door.

Calvin at Albion, 3 p.m.

I'm not sure how you erase a 31 point deficit, one thing is pretty clear looking at that boxscore and that's that this might have been one of Albion's worst performances of the last decade.  The starting 5 went 5-28 in this one and spent a lot of time on the bench, the Britons were simply never in this game.

Alma at Olivet, 3 p.m.

Alma's win over Adrian Wednesday was one of the least likely results of the year.  The Bulldogs crushed them by 39 the first time and Alma turned that around to win by 1.

The juxtaposition of these two comments in the same post don't give me a very good feeling right now.

realist

Expecting Calvin to beat Albion at their place by 31 points would be very unrealistic.  That was a very good game for Calvin, and as others have noted perhaps Albions worst.  Provided the same guys from Calvin that played in the last Albion game show up I  think Albion has their work cut out for them.  However, if the guys that have played for Calvin several other times this year show up it could spell trouble for Calvin.  Calvin has the guys to do the job.  Maintain + on the rebound side, keep the to's down, and don't fall into complacency if they get a lead they should do okay.  It's in the players hands.  Do they want the win more than the Albion players?  This really is the type of game you have to win if you want to build momentum going into a conference tournament.  No excuses, play like it is your last game. :)

I'm curious of peoples opinions about the Women/Men double headers (considering it is rarely, if ever the same visiting school for both games).

HATE it.  (You probably knew that already.)  :D

So are you hatin' or are you statin'?   ;) ;)

Both.   :D  I am not whipping my hair back and forth though.  Teenage girl in the house now? ;)
No teenage girl, just love the song.

My bad, should have thrown in the courtesy NSFW.

Credit Albion for turning up the "defensive pressure" to take a lead into the locker room. Not an overly physical game but it has had its moments, more to come in the second half to be sure.

Anybody at the Calvin/Albion game willing to share scores would be appreciated.  No video or livestats that I can find.

sac

Brutal first half for Alma, 10 minutes and scored 2 points, finished with 14 and score 5 in the last minute thrity.  15 first half turnovers.

Olivet 27 Alma 14.......Olivet win wraps up the #4 seed.
