Lady Knights squeak one out 73-37.  Congrats Calvin.
They were up 46-8 with 12:45 to go in the game.  Ouch.

Believe me when I tell you it wasn't that close.

Yikes, FTs FTs FTs... Hope should have controlled this game the whole way and looked like the better team. Augie trots out 6 guys that would be Hope's tallest player. A win tomorrow would be sweet, but definitely qualify as an upset.

At that point of the game Carissa Verkaik had more blocked shots (9) than LaRoche had points (8).  Also, at one point she had singlehandedly outrebounded the opponent 9-2 to start the game.  Wow.

Congrats Dutchmen on their first round victory.  That's two in a row in which Hope came out strong in the first half and early second half but then had to hang on tight.  Both times Colton Overway seals it from the line.  He's quickly becoming the go-to guy for Hope to handle the ball in crunch time.  Best of luck against Augustana tomorrow and safe driving to everyone.  I have a feeling that this one might be a bit tougher.

Augustana has similar size to Davenport, http://www.dupanthers.com/roster.aspx?path=mbball

Davenport handled Hope pretty easily on the first night of Hope's season, Davenport's 8th game.  I don't think Davenport plays the kind of defense Augustana plays, nor is Augustana as good as Davenport on offense.

Will Bowser had a tough night, Hope still had Andy Venema, Jared Mysliewiec and Corey Williams.  Despite being thoroughly dominated in the first half by the taller and much more game ready Panthers, Hope outplayed them in the 2nd half and made what could have been a 30 or 40 point loss only 14.

My how far Hope has come since then.  Augustana will be a real challenge for this Hope team, there's little doubt about that.  But its the kind of challenge you expect from the NCAA tournament.

5-11 in the last 5 min including a miss on the front end of 1 for 1......left about 7 points out there.  Could have made the last few moments much less violent on my gum.  But at this point in the year, can't complain much because they are still playing. :)
