The A is sure ugly and the game is getting the same.  A lot of chippy play, multiple guys with 4 fouls and technical fouls being called.  Coach May looks like an orchestra leader as he waves his arms asking for an explanation from the refs.  Albion with a small lead.

Attendance at Albion listed at 137.  That must include the teams and the bus driver.  Looks like 50 might be a little more accurate.

Watching North Central/Albion from Kresge.......that is one giant 'A'.  It's also been brutal to watch.

I had the same thought last night when I watched the Albion/Calvin women play.  Must have been a special on paint the week they decided to paint the floor.

Sac, I know you watch Albion quite closely.  What's your take on the Brits this year?

This is actually my first look at the Britons.

Do you take one off for each guy that fouls out?

Albion 61 North Central 60

Alex Harville hits a 3 with 3 seconds to go after CJ Goldthree missed an open layup that would have put NC up by 4.  10 different Britons scored.  Lots of fouls, lots of FT's.

Albion led by 9 midway through the half, NCC had a 16-1 run to take control.  Albion just struggled to find any offense at all the last quarter of the game.

Albion's probably going to have to win games a lot like that.  Make it ugly and try to pull it out at the end.  I count 3 made FG's the final 12 minutes, yet somehow find a way to win.

This is probably a good win for Albion, not sure about North Central.

It was definitely not a good win for North Central   :P

North Central's starting point guard (and only senior) didn't make the trip to Michigan tonight because of illness. Not making excuses for the Cardinals, just sayin'.

Just happened to click on the Calvin live stats link and found the stats from tonight's JV game. Ryan Nadeau didn't play at all -- an indication that his cameo versus Aquinas last weekend wasn't just a one-time deal? Does anyone know if he played in the JV game on Tuesday?

Looks like it was quite a second half. Calvin JV turned a 9 point deficit into a 16 point lead in about 8 minutes with a 31-6 run. Wouldn't mind seeing one of those from the Varsity.

New paint, old paint, doesn't matter.  They take tradition seriously at Albion.

Question for Hope fans that went to the game last night. Were you able to see the new construction project of the Kzoo fields?  Just curious.

Since it gets dark so much earlier these days, I'm guessing that not many people were able to see the progress. But since I live in the Kazoo area I drove by the site last Saturday (with workers there at the site!) and was amazed at what has been done, and all of the work still outstanding. But looking at the plans, the *New* look for the Kalamazoo College outdoor athletic facilities should really be something, and I'm really happy for you and the rest of the Hornet Family! I even attended one of the City of Kalamazoo Planning meetings prior to the approval lending my support to the project. I know how much the area residents "love" their neighborhood, but I really felt the plan respected their needs as well as those needs of the college. On the other hand, I'm not sure the newest building that will house the new Social Justice Center did the same homework, but we'll just have to see.

From what I recall, the project (new football, baseball, soccer, and softball fields, lockerooms, and an intramural field is suppose to be completed for the Fall 2012 seasons - correct?

Very Cool!

The opposition from the neighborhoods (not only W. Main Hill,  but also Oakland/Winchell) was pretty ridiculous and disappointing.   The progress of the project can be seen here http://tinyurl.com/7orshzn    It will be completed for the 2012 Fall Seasons.

As for the Arcus SJLC it is growing on me. It will certainly stand out on campus.  The Studio Gang is the architect firm behind the building. They did the Aqua building in E. Lakeshore 'hood downtown.  http://tinyurl.com/6pq2sg9

Can you imagine this applied to hoops? A Calvin-Albion-Hope game would be brutal.

That was a good episode. Forgot about that, thanks.

Think about three Grinnell style teams playing... or Grinnell vs. 'four corners' vs. 'normal'...

Any thoughts, expectations, analysis for the MIAA/CCIW challenge this weekend? I think it is a big measuring stick for all 4 teams at this point in the season. I am surprised there isn't any chatter on here about it.
