Logan may have other ideas, whether it is over or not

Agree HDreams, this is far from over

this Hope game reminds me of the St.  Noberts fiasco of two years ago.  Bunn looks awful yet continues to play major clock.  It's too bad Hope doesn't have any depth in the backcourt.  Fortunately for the home team, Calvin still cannot defend Krombeen after  4 years and about 15 games playing against him.  Welcome back Logan!!!! Good to see...

Nice time for Hope's website and live stats to go down

No kidding.  If there's someone who knows what's happening / happened that can give an update, it would be appreciated!

87-80 Final.  Hope wins!

Adrian wins 59-50 over Trine.  Trine had the lead down to 1 twice in the last two minutes, but could not pull it off.

Well, if Ian Jackson was hoping to build his case for 1st team All-MIAA during the MIAA Tournament, the 1st half at Adrian has not helped him ------16 minutes played, 0-2 from field, 2 rebounds, 2 turnovers and 2 fouls

Good job FDF!

I believe you're pretty close FDF.  The only little disagreement I might have is Ian Jackson.  When playing against Trine, coaches needed to prepare to stop Ian. When coaches have to prepare to stop someone, they usually vote for them.  The very same thing happen to Cruise from Albion last year.  His performance last year wasn't anywhere close to being a first teamer compared to the 09/10 season, but coaches had to practice stopping him.  If coaches have to concentrate and prepare to stop a player, they will usually vote for them.

Also, I don't buy the arguement of not putting players on the all-league team because their team did not make the league tourney.  If the MIAA/Coaches wanted to take that into consideration they would wait till the tournament was over to vote.  This is a All League Team, not an All Tournament Team.  That is why I think you're going to find FDF's choices very, very close to being right down the line!

It was a highly entertaining, and at times dramatic, tilt at the DeVos tonight.
Hope seemed in control almost the entire first half, and for runs in the second.
But Calvin came to play HARD tonight -- and gave the Dutchmen all they wanted in the second half.
Hope has by far the deeper bench, and more talent man-for-man in the starting lineup.  That showed pretty consistently in all three games between the two teams this season.
But the Knights showed some real heart and promise in this game -- a bit like they did in the first half of the earlier game at DeVos.
Tonight, I was proud to be a Calvin fan, and, although 13-13 is a disappointing result, I can scarcely wait for next year.

I can scarcely wait for next year.
I can understand that optimism, GK. Calvin showed heart tonight, answering each Hope run with one of its own.  And with the likes of Kruis and Snikkers returning, Jordan Brink and others returning from injury, and perhaps a new recruit or two, 2012-2013 may be Calvin's year.

From the Hope side of things, how great to see Logan Neil back to his old form tonight . . . and how about David Krombeen completing his game this year by becoming a 43 percent 3-point shooter.

I respectfully disagree.  Hope has a more talented team but to say "more talent man-for-man in the starting lineup" is a stretch.  Tyler Kruis has shown in all three matchups that he is far superior to Nate VanArendonk.  Nate has good size and may develop but he has a long ways to go. Kruis is clearly the premier big man in the league.

Great game tonight, both teams played hard and the best team won.  Officiating was again horrible and Hope had more bad calls than Calvin.  I hate it when the players work so hard and the officials aren't giving it their best.  I expect Hope to make a deep run in the NCAA tournament and their home court advantage will be a big boost.

Would like to hear details on the Adrian/Trine game and what happened to Adrian to let Trine back into this one.

Tough game for the players and the fans tonight at The Devos! Hope's 20/33 free throws just about drove me wild down the stretch... calvin refused to go away and Hope almost gave it to them! Hopefully Neil has found his shot again and will peak at just the right time! Overway was scrappy and showed a lot of hustle out there! They were a combined 4/7 from downtown! These two off the bench may have been the difference in the end!

Now, time for a glass of wine... I still feel tense from this one! I am sure I will have nightmares of free throws.... Speaking of nightmares or whatever the calvin student sections name is, I thought the small number of them did a nice job in bringing some noise and adding to the atmosphere!

A most interesting Rivalry game tonight at DeVos with the Knights playing the part of the junk yard dog who just wouldn't go away. I'm glad I went. Every time Hope pulled out to a double digit lead I expected Calvin might fold the tent, but they refused to do so and kept smacking Hope in the jaw. Calvin has obviously been shorthanded this year but if they play with the same passion next season after adding back the players they have sorely missed, the Knights will be a formidable foe in 2012-13.

Neither can anyone else in the MIAA. There's a reason he will soon be named conference MVP.

Literally! There were a number of points in the game that I thought it might get out of hand!
