On that subject. I like Adrian being able to slow down the game's tempo on the defensive end. I think that their guards will be able to match up pretty well but having NVA and the way Snuggs is playing right now is going to tip the scales. Definitely will be a great matchup though to say the least

That says it all.

You having posted more times than I have doesn't say anything except that you've spat out more garbage than you care to remember

First off, do you ever think before you post? All you ever post is bias and negative...and that post especially is "garbage" as you'd like to say.

Regards, to that: IMO it's boring, no-flow, girls basketball. I hate it.

Maybe we should set up a board for disgruntled Calvin fan conversations.   This is not fun to read with 2 teams still playing and at least one playing in the NCAA's not named Calvin.

Time and place maybe?     :-\

Yet no one said anything when the board went all Hope a few days ago Sac.

Hope's still playing.

Look, if it were reversed and it was Calvin/Adrian still playing and all you saw was posts griping about various Hope things over and over you'd feel the same.

Just give it a few days that's all.

As for time and place.  Are either teams playing right at this moment?  No one's stopping you and your hope compatriots boring us to death with "we're hope, we're great" conversations.  Its a sub forum to discuss MIAA basketball.  The coaching situation at Calvin is an MIAA basketball topic, is it not.

Once again, Hope fans remind me of St Louis Cardinal fans.  Annoying and smug.

I can see we're going to overreact.  Sorry I brought it up.

Who knows, ,maybe I would feel the same, but then again, probably not.  But I sure wouldn't imply Hope fans shouldn't discuss their frustrations.

Overreact?  Good grief Sac, you made an asinine comment.

Wow arena thanks for painting such broad strokes about all Hope fans.  Last I knew this board was an open forum and you're welcome to bring up any topic for discussion that you would like.  Or would you and sac like your own board to make sarcastic comments toward one another?  Can the game start any sooner so maybe we can actually discuss that rather than watch petty arguments between one another?

Everyone, it was a well meaning request that's all.  Lets just move on please.  Thanks.

Denison's victory tonight is a good example of why you allow all the teams into the league tournament.

Sac, your perspective of what it will take for Hope to win tomorrow?  For Adrian to win?

Thank you to all parties involved for making the last 10 minutes of catching up on todays posts so enjoyable.  Precisely why I like to play the a-hole every once in a while, its makes for much more entertaining dialogue.  Let's get ready to rumble, last recess on the kickball field!

Thinking Hope jumps out big tomorrow but I don't know how.  A quick 14-0 strike or a methodical, solid performance coupled with Adrian's lack of offensive punch?  Something like 25-8???  Coach White makes some adjustments and they play even-steven the remainder, maybe even making up a point or two.  Adrian focuses on neutralizing Krombeen on D and pounding the post offensively in hopes of drawing fouls.  Peter returns to the 2010 version and reaps the bene's of being a forgotten check in the bulldogs defensive scheme.  Or ....i could be completely off base, regardless, Hope Plays, Hope Wins!!!!

Oh boy I could make this a long answer.  (success by the way)

Hope has to expect this to be physical, because it will be.  They've had an annoying tendency lately to be surprised by contact and not go strong to the basket.  That has to stop if Hope has any designs on winning tomorrow and advancing in the big one.  There will be contact Saturday afternoon and it will hurt, you just have to expect it.

Hope's big guys are going to have to stay out of foul trouble and its pretty simple why.  Adrian hates shooting over NVA.  The first Adrian game in Holland was the first time I think I had seen Nate stay out of foul trouble early, and the result was 9 blocked shots and about a dozen others clearly altered.  The second time they played, Adrian made themselves a jump shooting team as that game wore on and I have no doubts haunting memories of their first game probably affected that.

Rebounding with Adrian is something fun to watch.  Adam Meier, Sean Gallant and Dennis Mason are as good as any 3 guys in this league at keeping the ball alive and picking up junk baskets.  Obviously both teams did a pretty mediocre job on the other guys glass the last game, so it shouldn't surprise anyone if both teams really go at the boards hard again this time.  Rebounding will also relate to foul trouble, both teams will really need all hands on deck to win this battle.  If either team gets in foul trouble down low, the rebounding is likely to swing to the other team.

Adrian is going to need some unexpected points or someone to step up big.  Playing Hope is hard enough, playing Hope without your two starting guards, Brad Whitby and Delano Collins is probably something that is keeping Mark White awake tonight.  Look for Cody Barnes, Richaud Pack and probably Eric Lewis to get the majority of the shots if Adrian opts away from attacking Hope inside.  Even so probably Barnes and Pack are going to get most of the shots.  Obviously a low scoring, plodding kind of game favors Adrian.  They absolutely must limit their turnovers, if not Hope will ramp up the transition and push the score to a pace Adrian simply can't compete with.

Defensively Adrian has shown they can at least slow Hope down some.  These are the shooting percentage for Hope by halves in the two meetings this year for Hope.

I'm sure the only team on the MIAA schedule that did not give up a .500 or better half against Hope.  The problem for Adrian against Hope has been their own fg%, again by halves.

.344
.333

Hope can play some defense as well, its actually been one of the most consistent things about this Hope team this year, it just gets lost in the high efficiency of their offense.

I'm hoping Wednesday was a good lesson and reminder of how teams play in the post-season and the passion/desire that teams will play against them from here out.  It will take nothing short of that kind of effort for this Adrian team to beat Hope.

Hope's going to have to play well I think, the name on the jersey is not going to win this game for them.

I get karma deducted for calling myself an a-hole?  Or was it the OTHER comment?  Even those who bleed orange and blue have to be realistic in thinking that PB was pretty bad the other day, especially compared to what he has done in the past (2-3 years ago).  A larger sample of the last 10 games, which some pest provided, clearly shows that he's been very un all-american, savior to the season, oh how good we good have been last year if he didn't have a mysterious ailment that nobody could talk about-like.

I do think that he will have a big game today because he has, in essense, become the forgotten man, even on this board......Been or snuggs, snuggs or Been, NVA vs Kruis, high powered offense, much improved defense, not great rebounding or FT's lately,  Neils shooting woes, Holwweda is key, Overway off bench is such an asset, A NOW 3 GAME STRETCH WHERE THEY HAVEN'T BEEN OUTSTANDING, etc.....Not to mention all the possible violence amongst Calvin fans.  One love people, One love.....

It's all good though, collectively this Hope team is too deep and so good that even G.......don't go there..........HE couldn't mess this up.  Hope plays, Hope wins!!!!
