Dear Hope College, if K College can video broadcast its games on its limited budget, you certainly should be able to.  Let's get two in.

I'll bet the reasons are not limited resources.
Bandwidth for the number of people interested in watching?

I hope it's not the same reason why the Bill Wirtz owner of the Blackhawks wouldn't broadcast their home games.

Maybe someone there from Adrian could show them how.

I was thinking something else....but it could definitely be bandwidth. Calvin's servers choke really really often.

I'll bet if you were the decision maker at Hope, with a 3500 capacity gym and the best home-court advantage/atmosphere in the conference you'd think twice about making it very easy for people not to come.

There were rumors of a student-run video broadcast early in the year.  It sounded like the project was still pretty far off.  Maybe there will be something for next year.  In the meantime, here are the people you should voice your displeasure to:

Eva Dean Folkert < folkert@hope.edu > (616-395-7694)
Co-Director of Athletics

Tim Schoonveld< schoonveld@hope.edu > (616-395-7698)
Co-Director of Athletics

If they did it from the rafters like others... I'm sure they would still fill the place.

I bet they would too; I just think that's the discussion that we're not privy too. I don't think it has anything to do with budget or know-how.

They could do black-outs like they do in pro markets... If they don't "sell-out" no video.

As a disclaimer....all this by me is pure speculation :)

They definitely could; but I bet the outcry would be much louder in that situation than what it is currently. Once we (as the public) know that video is in place, we'd be pretty pissed if we can't have it!

Any reason NVA isn't playing today? Apologies if this has already been covered.
