Knightvision:

You may be able to see well in the dark.

Let me shed a little light:

im·pend·ing (adjective):
1. about to happen; imminent: their impending marriage.

pend·ing
(preposition)
1.while awaiting; until: pending his return.
2.in the period before the decision or conclusion of; during: pending the negotiations.
(adjective):
3.remaining undecided; awaiting decision or settlement; unfinished: pending business; pending questions; pending litigation.
4.about to take place; impending.

goodknight, I can assure you my vision is fine...Please see post 34061 on page 2271--I assumed you had seen this earlier exchange and had with a bit of humor used the word impending.

For what it's worth, I like my dictionary better than yours....and have no pending plans to buy a new one  :D

I try to keep humor out of everything I do.   :'(

Remember, I went to Calvin -- no frats, no football, no fun. ;)  (Although, I understand there is an impending vote that could introduce football.)

Thanks for your clarification, Knightvision.  Indeed, I missed that exchange last week.  I was on the road in Iowa, spending a week one night in FDF's home county. The internet hasn't arrived there yet, although I'm told that it might, depending or impending or simply pending upon something or other or nothing at all.

+k.  Nice play on the old W. C. Fields one liner about Philadelphia: "He spent a year there one day". :)

I wonder if olivet will be pulling the guys out of Buena Vista the next few years with their new coach. Buena Vista has potential state championship talent coming through and that might be helpful since we know there is a little connection to that school now ;)

Other than an Alma player or two from Swan Valley or Heritage HS's I can't think of too many kids from the immediate Saginaw area that end up in the MIAA.  Michael Thomas (Albion/Saginaw aka The HIGH) was about it that I can remember.

While the Flint/Saginaw corridor is loaded with good basketball players, not to many of them are looking to pay 30,000+ grand to play basketball.  Right now there are only 3 on MIAA rosters  Dakotah Ellis-Birch Run, Lee Caldwell-Flint Intenational, Evan Levine-The Valley, Flint

SVSU's current roster has 4 Saginaw kids, one from Buena Vista.

You haven't forgotten the Meckes boys from Saginaw Valley Lutheran already have you? :) :)

Alma's Greg Silverthorn is another former Tri-Valley Star via Shepherd High School (of the above schools mentioned, Alma, Swan Valley, Valley Loooo, and Birch Run are all Tri-Valley) but he's benefitting from free education...

That made me a little curious, so I looked at women's basketball rosters, and for 2011-12 only 3 teams had Tri-Valley/Saginaw-Flint Corridor players on their roster.

Alma's Faller is from the Loo, Adrian's Mossner is from Frankenmouth, and Olivet has a pair from Flint via Hamaday and Southwestern....

Here's a map of where this past years MIAA players went to high school, not necessarily where they are from (school of choice and all).  Only those on the last rosters, so injured players like Brink/Hutton etc are not accounted for.

I didn't get a chance to comment on this earlier so here it is now.....All but one of the Indiana 'pins' are Trine players, Hope's Chris Ray is the other.  Nearly all of the 'pins' in the Northern half of Michigan belong to Alma.  Kzoo and Albion have a couple from up there.

I was sort of the surprised by the concentration of 'pins' around the Detroit suburbs as this goes against what I usually perceive to be a lack of Detroit area representation.  Perhaps I just need to pay attention more.  Really nice to see some Detroit-PSL kids in the MIAA, Mark White at Adrian is primarily responsible for this.

As a resident of Lansing and reborn fan of the high school basketball scene I'm pretty surprised and even a little disappointed there aren't more Lansing area kids.  For one, the CAAC-Blue or 'big' schools is one of if not the most competitive leagues in the state and only one kid hails from that division.

Interesting thing to do that blew a couple hours out of my day.

Don't think anyone's posted it yet (edit: here) but congratulations to Chris Greenwood and Albion nation for Chris getting drafted by the Detroit Lions in the 5th round.

Also been discussed on the MIAA football board (and elsewhere).  Considering that db may be the Lions' single greatest need, I think he has a decent chance of sticking.

Another good off-season read about Michigan recruit Austin Hatch who survived a terrible plane crash that took the life of his father and step-mother.

I was reading yesterday about schools changing divisions next year and was a little shocked to see Buena Vista will be classified as Class D.  Though the option is there to compete at the C level if they choose.

I still remember the Class B titles they won in the '90s with Terrence Roberson, before he became an issue @ Fresno State. He was the cousin of the heralded Anthony, who wound up his Gator career with not much fanfare.
