The Kalamazoo schedule is up. I don't remember if it had been posted or not.

http://www.kzoo.edu/sports/mb/mb12-13/mbschd12-13.html

Pretty much the same schedule we see from them every year. Non-conference contains winnable games versus Earlham, Oberlin, Manchester, Case Western Reserve, and Bluffton.

They'll probably have a hard time with Defiance, Chicago, and DePauw, and there's no way they beat North Central.

I'm always interested to see tournament matchups. Kzoo will play at the Rhodes tournament in December. The host school would is in-region in this case.

May 22  :)

Kalamazoo has its schedule posted  http://www.kzoo.edu/sports/mb/mb12-13/mbschd12-13.html

Very similar to K's schedule from 2 or 3 years ago, 9 in-region games and will probably pick up at least one in-region game at the Rhodes tournament.  So root for the Hornets to pick up some important in-region wins.

6 teams return from last year, K went 2-4.  Blown out by Defiance and Chicago and competitive in the other 4.

The MIAA/HCAC challenge with Trine/Manchester/Earlham returns so looks for that on Trine's schedule.

Three pretty challenging games with Chicago, North Central and a trip to DePauw.

The only weird thing is it looks like K has games during exam week and have no games after Christmas until the start of the MIAA schedule.

Things that make you scratch your head:  On the way to the Rhodes Tournament in Memphis, TN where they'll probably get an in-region game, Kzoo will pass over a half-dozen other D3 schools that wouldn't be considered in-region.  ::)

eh, at this point I appreciate a fresh post, even if the info is old!

Now I do remember that bottom line. I had to block it out of my memory in order to avoid starting another rant about regional criteria.  :)

Don't sell North Central short here... they have found ways to lose in their pre-conference schedule. They were 6-5 last year, which was an improvement on two years ago... when they were 4-7.

They still managed to win the CCIW regular season title both years (adding the tournament title this year too).

I freely admit, I didn't see this hire coming down the road on Plymouth Ave.

Wow!  Very interesting.  (And if you didn't see it coming, how do you think the rest of us feel?)   :D  :o  Thanks for passing this along!

Case Western's schedule shows both Alma and Albion will be at their 'classic' in late December.

http://athletics.case.edu/sports/mbkb/2012-13/schedule

While Case will probably be at or near the bottom of the UAA, its a nice tie-in for strength of schedule with the UAA.  Case was actually pretty good out of the UAA last year going 8-3 against marginal competition.

I might put good money on the 4th team being from the NCAC/OAC/PAC so both Alma and Albion could get 2 regional games out of this.

Last year Case invited John Carroll, Wayneburg and Regis(Mass).

REALLY GOOD NEWS for our Hornet friends!

http://www.mlive.com/news/kalamazoo/index.ssf/2012/06/kalamazoo_college_kalamazoo_ci.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+kzgazette_news+%28Kalamazoo+Gazette+News+-+MLive.com%29

Good news indeed.  Lights off at 8:30pm for the football stadium seems a little early, but it's better than nothing I guess.

VERY HEAVY empahsis on "But it's better than nothing I guess."!!!   :)  "Vice Mayor Hannah McKinney abstained from voting, citing her employment with Kalamazoo College and her residence in the West Main Hill neighborhood.  The city received a protest petition from land owners within 100 feet of the property to be rezoned, which meant a "supermajority" of commissioners needed to vote in favor of the rezoning. With McKinney abstaining, five out of the six voting commissioners needed to vote yes."  Fortunately the vote passed unamiously!

More from the Grand Rapids Gazette (we in Kalamazoo have renamed the "newspaper" since the cutback changes and the MLIVE change!!)   ;D
