To the kid in the stands, this dunk was apparently the sickest thing he's ever seen.  David Krombeen thinks 'yer no Victor Davis'.

Clicking on the image expands it in the post so no need to leave the board to see the full size! I will admit to discovering this by accident a while back.

The Champions of Character games are tonight and Thursday at Cornerstone University.

Here are the rosters for the high school games tonight
http://www.mlive.com/sports/grand-rapids/index.ssf/2012/06/introducing_the_rosters_for_th.html

Of note, the women's game features zero players who will be attending Hope or Calvin or any other MIAA school.

On the boys side, a few players who's names hadn't made the board until now and some that had:

Jordan Dailey, 6-3 Grand Rapids Christian  -- Calvin
Luke Marble, 6-3 Sparta  -- Albion
Andy Slomski, 5-11 Grand Rapids West Catholic  -- Olivet

Alex Eidson, 6-2 Grand Haven  -- Hope
Eric Evans, 6-1 Jenison  -- Albion
Ivy Johnson, 6-5 Rockford  --  Alma*

*  I'm intrigued by Ivy Johnson playing basketball for Alma, big kid with a baby face

Just clarifying...high school games are tomorrow night, correct?  College games tonight, I thought.

Windemuller to MCC? I could've sworn i read on the CCIW board he was going to miliken?!?

Owen Handy was hired by Anderson University as their head coach.  Owen was an assistant at Wheaton College  for 9 years and was most recognized as 'the one in the bow tie'.  Having played Wheaton so frequently, Hope/Calvin fans should be familiar with him.  Owen replaces Tom Slyder who left to take the North Park head coaches position.

Owen inherits a team with 13 returning Fr and Soph's and one Jr.

I think I remember reading he has ties to West Michigan but can't remember exactly what they are or were.

Drake Harris will make his college choice on Wednesday according to UM recruitnik Sam Webb.  Sam also tweets later he believes Drake will play both football and basketball and will choose MSU.

It must be devastating for Calvin football and basketball fans to know they aren't in the running. ;)

Drake just told me, if it came down to it, Calvin over Hope.

From Basketball Open Dates Board today;

Hope College would like to invite teams to one of two tournament opportunities.  December 7/8 is our home tournament which will involve a generous guarantee, hotel rooms for one night and post game meals both nights.  December 21/22 we have a tournament in beautiful Orlando, and have an opening.  All games will be played at the RDV Sportsplex, training home of the Orlando Magic.  This tournament is a co-op tournament in which all teams share financial backing in the running of the event.  If interested in a magnificent experience for your team, contact Coach Matt Neil at 616.403.5291

scheduling is easy

Grace Bible and Illinois Wesleyan are still showing games in Orlando.  Olivet was supposed to be the 4th, their schedule isn't out yet but Grace Bible still has them as one of their Orlando opponents.

Are they looking for a 5th team or did someone back-out?
