I'm hearing that Kalamazoo College should be ready to name their new basketball coach in the next week to ten days.

Here's another name for Calvin's 2012 recruiting class:

Kai Foday of Canterbury High School in Ft. Wayne, IN (that would make him a teammate of Austin Hatch). I'm told that's class 1A which is the smallest in Indiana.

He's listed at 6-3, and the only description I've heard of him is "raw".

Also, I believe Brandon Martin of Caledonia is a Knight. I've not seen/heard anything about him.

Albion College is taking its team to Italy, as you can see they dressed up for the team photo....

Here's the school's announcement:   http://www.albion.edu/sports/mens-sports/basketball/4887-mens-basketball-set-for-italian-tour

They promise blogging of the events here:  http://campus.albion.edu/acbasketball-italy/

As someone who spent many years in the vicinity, I can tell you there is no better way to start off a trip to anywhere than a dip in Duck Lake.

Eric Dougal won't be the only one in that situation. Tom Slyder's first home game as NPU's head coach will be on November 28 against  ... yep, Anderson.

Olivet's late December game with Marygrove has been moved to The Palace at Auburn Hills due to overwhelming demand for tickets. (not really)

It will be part of a double-header with Heat/Pistons game.

Also from Olivet's website, they'll have a couple kids familiar with playing on The Palace floor.

Former Hope G Jared Mysliewiec will attend Elmhurst.

http://www.grccraiders.com/news/2012/7/25/MBB_0725124405.aspx

He has just the one year remaining, correct?
Not sure, he played 15 games in 2010 before injury, and only 3 in 2011 before being reinjured and leaving Hope.

He could probably claim a medical injury for his Soph. year at Hope which should give him two.  But to be honest I have no idea, Mysliewiec was not a name I expected to ever have to remember how to spell correctly again.

He's gotta have at least two seasons of eligibility remaining, because he played for a juco last season. You can't play for a juco once you've passed the two-year mark of your college athletic career.

No wonder they're publicizing it as GoAlmaScots.com  ::)

Great picture on the front page of the basketball page.
