Alma's roster is out: http://goalmascots.com/sports/mbkb/2012-13/roster
Also Trine (which had been reported ealier): http://www.trine.edu/athletics/mens_sports/basketball/roster/

With the Alma roster being all Jrs & Srs, I'm wondering if it's the real thing or just a "carry-forward" from last year.

Possibly, but it's fourteen guys, so there's not much room to add meaningful players. I guess some programs like to list lots of guys.

Interesting Alma roster; seems like almost everyone is 6'4" - well not really, but quite a few of them - but no one taller.  Would seem like rebounding will be a challenge area this year.

That's an average height of around 6-2, by comparison Calvin was almost 6-6. In actual playing time on the floor its probably less for Alma since I would expect Williamson to play quite a bit.  His 5-11 would bring the avg down a bit.

Alma was almost -6 per game on the glass last year.  Their real troubles were on the offensive glass where they got only 25% of their misses, perhaps mostly due to chucking up so many 3's.

WOTS, Steve Wittenbach looks like this year's breakout player for Hope.

This would be welkomed.

Hope's returning 3-point shooting

Snuggeruud   12-26   46%
Overway  7-29   24%
Seiler  17-60  28%

all others were single digit attempts

And now they've added a billion and a half unnumbered freshmen and sophomores.

So then

Hope's first real game will be @ #6 North Central on Nov 17.

The Preseason Top 25 is out: http://www.d3hoops.com/top25/men/2012-13/preseason

Hope ranked #7, though Calvin is more likely to finish at #7 than Hope (IMCO).

Sure, Calvin is much more likely than Hope to end up #7...in the league.   ;D ;D ;D 8-) ??? :D ;)

It was but now has all of the freshmen and transfers listed as well...there is quite a bit of height there with the new guys.  6-6 Charley Helmer was a solid high school post up at Montabella.  Saw him play quite a few times and was decently impressed.  No other names that ring a bell other than Brandon "Gunner" Trefill who was part of that Fulton squad that was so good.  Pure shooter.  Probably a JV guy at first but I could see him producing later in his career.

What is it with October 17th ?

Personally, I blame it on the Ides of October.

Scroll down, start the video and check out a bearded version of oldknight when he played drums with CCR. As I recall, OK had a hand in authoring some of the lyrics too so you could almost say he predicted the fireworks in prior century. OK even mentions the Flying Dutchmen (twice) in the song.

A Calvin roster has not been posted, but (unofficial) indications are that (freshmen) Austin Parks and Jordan Daley have made the team.
