1 month......

until Calvin/Hope!
\
HCG.  My post was in response to this one which mentions Hope/Calvin.  Nothing more, and nothing less. :)

I was just noticing that it was exactly one month, at the time of the post (12/16), that Hope plays at Calvin (1/16)...I don't think there are any websites with countdown clocks like there are for Michigan/Ohio St games to remind some of us of this match-up.  ;) I think after almost not even qualifying for the MIAA tournament last season, no Calvin fan, player, or coach will have any trouble looking past a conference opponent, especially one like Adrian.

One game tonight

North Park at Albion 6pm

For the sake of the overall record and in-region record we really need Albion to win this tonight.  With their departures I believe the Britons become the 2nd youngest team in the MIAA.

sac

Freshman minutes, the number of Fr. is off the current rosters, minutes is off the boxscores and reflects the one or two no longer on the rosters.  Albion has added at least 3 since their last game and I think Adrian lost 2.

                 No.   Min.    %min
Trine            6   595   33.1
Adrian           6   475   29.6
Alma             5   452   27.8
Albion           8   356   25.4
Olivet           5   497   24.85
Hope            4   373   22.96
Kalamazoo     4   251   15.2
Calvin           1   29   1.6

The 5 Fr. logging the most minutes so far are

257  Nick Tatu, Trine
208  Jordan Herron, Albion
211  DJ Beckman, Alma
191  Jared Holmquist, Trine
187  Darryl Fleimeister, Adrian

Gregory Sager

Albion 83, NPU 76

NPU cut an 18-point second-half Albion lead down to three, but couldn't get over the hump.

Six guys in double-figures for Albion primarily playing just 7 guys.

btw the Adrian website is saying Adrian's 8-0 start is their best since 1955, that's a long time ago.

BogeyMan

Went to Adrian Monday night to watch their game.  Was very impressed with their defense.  The difference in the points they are giving up has a lot to do with running the ball up the floor at really quick pace.  The last couple of years Adrian would not shoot the ball unless it was under 10 sec on the shot clock. I assure you Adrian is playing as good as defense as ever.  Physically they are very tough to handle.

A couple games tonight

Albion at Spring Arbor 7pm
Miss College v Hope 7pm in Orlando

The overall record for the league sits at 38-30, after Kzoo lost to DePauw yesterday the in-region record is now 22-22.

monsoon

And, of course, Mississippi College vs. Hope is an in-region game, but Illinois Wesleyan is not (for either Hope or MC).   ::)

Hope trails 40-36 at the half, starting 5 has 10 points on 3-16 from the floor.   Other than shoot 3's  (which is basically Eidson's 4-5) Hope hasn't really done anything well.

Albion leads SAU at the half 32-22

Live stats locked up at 1410 to go in 2nd half!!! Grrrrrrrrrrr

Miss College 83 Hope 72

Eidson 18, Seiler 15, Overway 10

Hope's just not a very good team right now.   They really needed this one tonight for a lot of reasons, 9 games in and still scrambling to find lineups that can defend and not finding a single one.

If the livestats from the game are correct, Snuggerud finished with 3 fouls and yet played only 15 minutes, going 1-6 from the floor with 2 boards, and VanArendonk only played 12 minutes also with 3 fouls. Brock Benson played 27 minutes. What's going on with that? Health issues?
