Let's see if I got this right. :)
In March Snuggerud scores 40 points against IWU.  It makes sense that IWU was going to key on  him last Sat.  Shake up the line up by not starting him, and build an 18 point lead.  What's not to like about that?  All I see is the new, less experienced guys not able to sustain the lead, but they never gave up either.
Frankly I am not falling for all the rumors about "issues" with the Dutch. :) :) :)
Put away the gurney, and cancel the Hospice care. ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)
Like rb999 said:  "they have the talent" to win the MIAA, and so do Adrian and Calvin.
I don't think anyone is going to go 14-0 in the MIAA this year.
I read what MN said.  It sounds to me like he is willing to do whatever it takes to get his team some W's.  He did it last Sat., and he probably will do it again, and that just makes Hope that much more dangerous to play.

So if KVS decided to bench his best players in the name of "shaking things up" and was sitting at home on Christmas Day with a 4-6 record, you'd be ok with that?

It feels like he's scored half of them against NPU.

2010   12 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal
2011   33 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal
2012   14 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals
2013   31 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals

90 points, 19 rebounds, 8 assists, 7 steals.  38-63 FG's, 5-10 3's, 8-19 FT's

4-0 vs North Park.  The two 30 point performances both came at North Park.

I remember him being awful good in that 2011 game.

Yes, I'm well aware of those numbers. I did the PBP for both of the 30-point games. I'm doing my best to try to forget them, and you're not helping things. ;)

Mr. Ypsi

I'm tentatively planning a trip to Adrian for the January 5th Hope@Adrian game - anyone gonna be there?  Should be a better game than one I went to there with my family, who had little trouble talking me out of leaving at the half with Hope up by c. 30!  Although Adrian is my more local team, I'll sit with Hope since I have yet to meet any Bulldog posters (are there still any?), but I retain the right to be more-or-less neutral! ;)

Looking at Hope's game with Aurora Sat. night.   I'm expecting a pretty up-tempo game with lots of possessions.  Aurora avg's 81 points per game.

Massey has Hope #74, Aurora #76 with Hope a slight favorite.  Aurora has won 9 in a row after starting 0-3, however they have yet to beat a team with winning record.  Good thing for them Hope is 3-6.  They lost to Augustana by 3 and North Central by 7 but were blown out by Whitewater.

There is nothing to suggest this game should be anything but a good, close game.

Olivet 72 Marygrove 69

Comets hold off a late Marygrove rally including surving a last ditch 3 to tie.  Last two-minute execution was troublesome and with 8 minutes left led by 16.  Alvino Ashley is back on the Olivet roster.

Hill 19, Small 17, Krum 11

Trine 63 PSU-Behrend 55

A different starting 5 than the last few games with Good in for Tatu.  Ian Jackson a tough day shooting finished with 7.  Trine hit a couple late shots to keep the Behrend rally falling short.

Tatu 15, Malone 12, Holmquist 11

I caught the Calvin vs Cornerstone JV game tonight. Cornerstone prevailed in a pretty entertaining game 97-95.  On the bright side, Austin Parks, a FR combo guard from Niles, led Calvin with 26, including 8 3's, the majority of which were from NBA distance.  Great looking stroke, heady player, and solid defender.  Struggled some against ball pressure--will have to tighten that up if he's a future PG.  Eric Brower, a 6-7 FR  post from Unity Christian, also looked good.  He's not the most athletic post you'll see--but he posted well, finished around the basket with both hands, and was a fundamentally solid defender/rebounder. He is also an excellent passer--made great decisions on when to kick out to his teammates for some wide open 3's.  Jordan Daley, a 2/3, was at his best either slashing to the basket or posting up--gave Cornerstone trouble with some excellent post moves.  Has a ways to go defensively--could not stay in front of Luke Morrison, Cornerstone's most impressive freshman who led all scorers with 28.  The difference in the game was turnovers--Calvin's backcourt had a pile of turnovers that led to a slew of transition baskets/free throw opportunities for CU.
Apparently this was not an anomaly, but indicative of some consistently fine play--Calvin fans should not be surprised to see Mr. Parks joining the varsity soon, maybe as early as this coming weekend.  Perhaps the Calvin coaching staff has noted oldknight's previously stated concern about the lack of a consistent 3-ball threat and is taking action to address the deficit? They probably didn't want to run the risk of being on the receiving end of one of oldknight's now (in)famous depositions and took preemptive action ;) :o

As alluded to in this post by knightvision, Austin Parks will dress for the Varsity squad tonight.

Case Western 101  Alma  99  2OT

Alma was breaking out on a 3-1 fastbreak with a couple ticks left in regulation when a Case guard fouled just before the pass to what would have been the winning layup.  It was team foul #6 and left Alma with nothing but a long heave at the buzzer that didn't fall.  An early favorite for smart foul of the year award.

Alma battles back from 4 or 5 down in OT while Case made all their FT's, a late 3 by Jake Murawske sent it to a 2nd OT.

Case led all or most of the 2nd OT both teams hit multiple 3's.  Alma made a couple big defensive stops in the last couple minutes to give them a shot but it was not to be.
