Final 101-99 the Scots will suffering a tough loss.  Too bad because this would have been another really good win on the road against a solid team that beat Kalamazoo by a ton and lost to BW by 2.

Beckman 24, Law 17, Krause and Williamson both with 15.  Silverthorn another tough night offensively, did finish with 7 and 12 boards though.

Calvin struggles at first, then takes complete control, beating Wabash 83-56, including outscoring 42-19 in the 2nd half.

Calvin's offense was pretty consistent in tonight's game but it took an entire half for the defense to catch up and dominate the Little Giants for the second 20 minutes. I thought Wabash was a little lucky to be down only 41-37 at the break but Calvin's defense helped by breaking down at inopportune moments and Wabash made the Knights pay every time. Wabash hit 5-8 from the arc in the opening half and by my count there was only one three attempt that could be considered a good shot. But most went in and that went a long ways in helping keep the Little Giants in the game. The second half showed some regression to the mean and if I remember correctly (still haven't seen a final stat sheet) Wabash only made 1 three the second half. They took a lot of shots from the arc, and most of them were poorly chosen. Calvin's interior defense really stepped up after the break and made life miserable in the paint for the Little Giants' big giants, blocking or altering many of their shots. Calvin also rebounded much better in the second half. It helped that Jordan Brink actually shot the ball the second half. I think he took Calvin's first shot of the game--a triple that went in and out-- and then he went silent until the second half. Jordan came out the second half seemingly reenergized by a half time locker room chat, hit two early triples and it was off to the races. The big men from Wabash are as big as the Knights but not as athletic and it wasn't much of a contest in the second half.

*Albion at Case Western Reserve, Ohio, 6 p.m.
*Adrian vs. Mount Union, Ohio at Defiance, Ohio, 5 p.m.

League is 43-37, 44-37 if you count the Hope/Faith game.  Calvin should smoke Ripon and Adrian has already beaten Mt. Union once this year.  The rest of these look kind of 50/50'ish but that might be pessimistic.  For the 3rd straight year the MIAA should finish at .500 or better and for the 6th straight year could have an improved record over the previous year.

Year    W-L    W%
2005  46-38  .548
2006  52-34  .605
2007  27-51  .346
2008  34-44  .386
2009  35-46  .432
2010  38-50  .432
2011  43-43  .500
2012  44-43  .506

According to the MIAA website, the Calvin-Ripon game is available only through live stats or the Calvin broadcast.  But according to the Ripon website, the game is also available in video.  Is there any reason we Calvin fans cannot watch it on the Ripon video?  If Ripon has it in video, why isn't also listed as available to the MIAA on video?

The Calvin site is showing live video streaming for the Ripon game.
Generally the host site determines if a game is streamed or no.  Not all host sites will stream games if the home team isn't playing.

You're right!  I thought I had just checked it before posting and that it did not show it then.  Must have been mistaken.  It is showing it as through the Elmhurst sight just as you indicated.  Was  it available last night?  According to what I saw it was not, but it only makes sense that it would have been then, too.

The game should go live in a few minutes.  The Calvin site is showing the Women's game is also being streamed, but when I checked it is pay per view.

Last night's games were not streamed. I'm not sure why Elmhurst didn't have the video, but whatever. They probably wanted to be more like Hope.

I saw a tweet from Elmhurst's athletics account last night that they were having trouble with their broadcast equipment or server that hosts the broadcast. Not sure what issue was because normally the broadcasts are top-notch.

Great win for the Scots today as they hold off Chicago 76-74.  It's good to see them rebound that way after a really tough 2OT loss last night.  Beckman is really starting to step up and be that go to guy for the Scots.  Silverthorn had 8 quick points but had just one free throw inside the last minute of the game.

Beckman 20, Law 12, Sheridan 12, Williamson 11

Scots shot 50% (28-56) from the field

Interesting comment about the quality of Elmhurst's broadcasts.  It was immediately noticeable that their broadcasts were visibly clearer and without the jerkiness that had been on previous broadcasts.  At first I thought it was strange to have so much better quality while viewing on the same computer.
