With prompt and sincere apologies to Shakespeare:

Friends, Romains, countrymen, lend me your ears;
I come to bury Brandon, not to praise him....

But here I am to speak what I do know.
In the name of Caesar, lettuce spell his name aright:
Brandon Romain, Bulldog Forever for Five Games

I don't do spelling for dudes who walk out on their teams.

That one was for Sager. ;D

Hey, I was just following sac's cue by spelling the name the same way he did. Just a little HOF-to-HOF courtesy not to double-check his spelling of the name of a player from his own conference. ;)

I did appreciate the Julius Caesar spoof, though. You done high-browed up the board real purty with that 'un.

I have Trine's Ian Jackson needing 43 points to reach 1,500 for his career.  He's already Trine's leading scorer since joining D3, he should finish about 6th on Trine's all-time scoring list.

I believe Jackson passed the 1,500 point mark during the Kalamazoo game last Thursday, congrats to Ian.

Looking ahead to the new top 25 it isn't hard to predict that Adrian is in for a beating.  Probably fall into the ORV group.  Wheaton should also take a big drop, but probably salvage a 24-25 slot.
Expect to see Calvin return to the ORV group.

Don't have all the votes in yet, but can tell you Calvin definitely receives votes.

Adrian Bulldawg Alum

I was "up north" this weekend and had no internet, so needless to say I was not happy reading these post about 1, Adrian (for the most part) getting wooped by Hope and 2, Brandon Romain being a bust for yet another program.

I was hoping Adrian could split the tough start between perennial powers Hope and Calvin, but that hasn't happened, and now, they have to survive the rest of the schedule which will include tough games as in-conference games always provide.  And if their offense continues to struggle, then my guess of 10 and 4 in conference could go up in flames fast.

Once again the team gets outrebounded (37 to 29), but it seems they may have played a little better with Meier getting 8 rebounds and Gallant with 13 on a solid shooting night.  But Brock Benson still seems to have had his way with 18 and 10 on 7 of 8 shooting.

And to Brandon Romain...based on previous posts, it seems that this action of walking off and being stricken from the roster is not something that is unfamiliar to him.  I wonder if he blames others for these issues, because more likely, he needs to look in a mirror.  The teams, coaches, and teammates have all changed, with him being the only common in these travels in College Basketball Limbo.

Go Bulldogs...lots of season left.

I understand he also played for at least two high schools.

Tom Snikkers is also within striking distance of the 1,500-point mark.  By my count as of today, he needs 275 more points this year.  Calvin will play between 12 more games (if they fail to make the MIAA tourney) and 20 more games (if they go all the way to the NCAA finals).  I would estimate there is a ~50% probability that the Knights play at least 16 more games, which would require 17.2 ppg average for Tom to become the 8th Knight in history to reach the 1500 point mark for a career.

For the 1500-point club, Scott Rogers needs 280 more points this year and Nate Snuggerud needs 329 more.  The latter is very much in jeopardy right now pending Coach Neil's decisions on his playing time.

For the 1000-point club, this year's possibilities this year include Greg Silverthorn (76 points away) Eric Fishman (114), Bryan Powell (243), and Mark Ghafari (278).

I apologize for any I may have missed--this was a quick search.

If one wanted to petty and start a ruckus, he/she could point out that an earlier post could be viewed as negative and unnecessary towards a specific player....even without using the player in questions name but simply commenting that he played for at least two high schools.  This funfact tying into his various college stops, including Adrian.

Thankfully, I'm not one to tell anyone what he/she should comment on.

I am waiting for any reasonable rationale as to why a pre-season all-american was hardly used in a much needed victory at Adrian.  Especially after huge impact on Thursdays outcome in a come from behind victory and public declaration of fault in the press.  please take note that no name was used...and "they didn't need him" probably isn't correct in this instance.

Surely someone who has a clue about basketball can fill in the gaps for me/us. Mercy, am I petty....
