Via Calvin's sports twitter page (@CalvinKnights) the women's game against Trine has been postponed but the men are currently still scheduled to play.
That's too bad.  I was looking forward to a double header today.

Yes unfortunate.  But there is another one on February 13th at 6pm and 8pm.

The difference in the first Hope/Albion game was the play of Colton Overway, esp. down the stretch with he and Ben Gardner making a lot of the plays that ended up being the difference.

Hope will need better production from their big guys today.

Including a 28-2 finish.  "the hay was already in the barn" when Dougie-fresh advised Kalmazoo to just "move over and let the big dogs eat."

Also, what was up with the flagrant foul on Calvin.  Must have happened when I checked the Hope score.

Wow; I should say so. The Scots have now lost to two teams Calvin has beaten.

Not much to say about the Knights win over K except to say that Calvin is just better--and a lot bigger. The interior defense was stifling and relegated the Hornets to mere jump shooting. Trying to play against Kruis without much help goes a long ways in explaining Tyler's double/double by halftime.

when did this happen?

Jordan took a shot to eye in the Albion game. A small shiner was evident today.

I didn't actually see precisely what happened but the ref indicated Mickey DeVries threw an elbow as he and a Kalamazoo player were juggling for position. Mickey seemed very surprised by the call and none of the players appeared very upset by what had happened so I doubt it was intentional or particularly flagrant. Elbow flying has been a point of emphasis for officials the last couple of years--even if there is no contact.
