I knew Hope would find a couple... I have been wondering was it two years ago that Hope played CMU or was that WMU but anyways is it tradition that the winner of the MIAA plays a DI team or was it a relationship between the coaches??? Just a thought

Olivet played Central Michigan this past season.
Hope played Western Michigan the season before last.
Alma played at Oakland in 2010

Prior to that I think it had been awhile since an MIAA tackled a D1 program in a regular season game.  There have been a handful of exhibition games over the years including Kalamazoo's annual exhibition game with neighbor Western Michigan.  Albion has played at both Eastern and Oakland, Hope played at both Detroit Mercy and Oakland.   Adrian played Bowling Green.  Most of these games are based at the ground level by relationships between coaches.

There is no 'traditional' MIAA champion vs D1 matchup.

Chase Fairchild, Rockford to Alma
Don't think I've seen it on here, but Chase's teammate at Rockford, PG Chad Carlson, who I believe was being recruited by both Calvin & Hope, is reportedly headed to Hope...

Pretty nice little player but I am assuming the basketball opportunity was not Chad's primary reason for choosing to pack his bags for Holland. Hope's backcourt has several good young players, while Calvin's point position is wide open for someone to move in and take over.

Sorry to say but I think Stone Beckwith is going to Saginaw Valley.

OT: A great story about a man who has items that could be auctioned off for a lot of  money but is more interested in preserving history for all to enjoy.

Stone Beckwith is already at Saginaw Valley

He would be transferring to Alma as a Sophomore if this earlier post turns out true

WOTS is that Stone Beckwith (Beal City) will be playing Alma this upcoming year. Very talented kid I have heard though have never seen him play. Older sister Sydney was a pretty solid player towards the end of Coach G's run as the girls coach here in Alma.

Maybe he realizes it's just so awesome to be a Flying Dutchman that it's better to ride the pine at Hope than start for Calvin   ;D   ;D   8-)

Kind of a reverse take on line 263 of Milton's Paradise Lost, eh? ;)

It might take a chilly and, of course, "rainy" day in Hell for some to figure that one out, Gregory.  ;)

Alexander fits the Holmquist blue-collar mold, not quite as strong or as talented.
