After last year's schnanigans I'm surprised Mike DeWitt didn't want to nut up and bring his Bishops to Knollcrest. I'm sure they'd have a standing invitation to Calvin's Tip-off Tournament.

Didn't work out so well for him last time: http://www.calvin.edu/sports/mens/basketball/results/2010-11/ctipoff3.htm

In case anyone was wondering Hope will be over the 70% threshold.  With just the Aquinas/Cornerstone weekend as games outside D3.  Four in-region games, with 5 outside that should end up counting.

sac, given the emphasis placed on this board for factual reporting and correct information (which provided you with the fodder that spawned your post that led me to nominate you for May posterizer), I'd be far more comfortable if the newly minted addition to your signature identified you as "Nominee" instead of "Recipient."   I'm just looking out for your best interest....that way you don't run the risk of our resident attorney (ok, ok, where are you?  Put the clubs back in your trunk and get back to the office!) suing you into oblivion for false representation or some such nonsense ;D

I can assure you that given the on-again, off-again deluges we've seen the last two days, the clubs are safe and dry in the trunk. As for false representations, while Michigan does recognize the tort of innocent misrepresentation, sac should have no fear. I double-checked my dog-eared Canons of Ethics and--sure enough--it's unethical to sue fellow board members. That should cause you to breath a sigh of relief. ;)

Has Calvin ever played Kuyper before?

I'm surprised to see the CCIW/MIAA challenge is slated for VNA. Calvin hosted just two years ago and the event should be in Holland for the upcoming season. The schedule could be mistaken.

The Hall of Supersweetness voting committee of one unanimously approved your nomination.  You should have received a press release.

It is correct.  I haven't received an explanation yet but it is at Calvin again this year.

Nope; it's a first between these like-minded Calvinist institutions.

Wow. After starting their season at Anderson, Calvin plays eight straight home games before heading to California for the holidays. That's 9 out of the first 10 if you include the exhibition game against Ferris.

quote from Grace Bible's schedule 'outline'

Two NCAA III teams are on this years schedule with Calvin College and Finlandia University.

Right that's the Tip-off tournament. It's not clear if that means they're scheduled to play Calvin on Friday as usual, or if they're simply going to be there.

In related news, Calvin was looking for a fourth team for the Tournament as recently as April 10.

http://www.d3boards.com/index.php?topic=4536.msg1509099#msg1509099

Here's to hoping that CoF became that 4th team and that the field isn't currently Calvin, Grace Bible, College of Faith, TBD.

Also, Anderson's site shows that their series with Calvin will continue. They play Tuesday, November 19 at Anderson.

I just threw up a little bit in my mouth.

I assume it's because the PR office at Grace doesn't know the correct use of the possessive.

+K for knowing me so well, and loving me anyway.  :-*

It looks like the Calvin Tip Off tourney is not a tournament at all.  Calvin will play Bluffton at 3 pm on Saturday.

According to the Oakland Press, Waterford Mott's 6-6 C Quincy Norman will attend Adrian.  Norman transferred all the way out to Waterford from Detroit Renaissance for his Sr. year.

from Burneybites  (I don't know why Burneysbites says 'Waterford Kettering', he played at Mott)

Waterford Kettering center Quincy Norman will be playing in college at Adrian. Norman was an all-league selection in the KLAA this winter and showed flashes of pure domination in the post in his lone campaign with the Corsairs, after transferring from the PSL. In one win over West Bloomfield, he posted a breathtaking outing of 26 points and 30 rebounds. He was good for a double-double or close to it nearly every night.

Hope hosted the volleyball championship the past two years, and it may be Calvin hosted since the De Vos was busy.
