Bingo!
The non-MIAA schools are from PA and OH.

Waynesboro in PA with coach Christner has a Calvin connection.

Waynesburg
Thanks.  Waynesboro didn't seem right.  Co I worked for years ago had a plant in Waynesboro, and that is on the wrong side of the state.

Thomas More was a nice topic of discussion last year.  In 2014 they'll be playing a pretty good D3 schedule including Capital, Wilmington, Transylvania, Hanover, Centre, Wittenberg and Hope.

As noted on the Saints schedule, Hope will be playing at Thomas More.   As a teaser, I believe Hope's other opponent down there appears on Thomas More's schedule (not Cincinnati Christian).

The Saints don't lose much off a pretty good team that spent a lot of February ranked in the regional rankings.  Probably one of the two favorites in the PAC next season along with St. Vincent.  The other opponent would also be one of their conference favorites and NCAA hopeful, in both cases Hope will be picking up two opponents that should help the SOS calculations nicely.

Alma 2013 -14 schedule:

http://www.goalmascots.com/sports/mbkb/2013-14/schedule

They appear to have a really solid and difficult non league schedule:  @Allegheny tournament, @Carthage tournament, @St. Norbert tournament, @Wheaton, @UW Whitewater, home against Defiance and North Park

A great D3 schedule. No one could argue their intent or even the regionality (this isn't a word?) of it, but it's not guaranteed that they will reach the 70% in-region threshold. They'll need to get two in-region games between the Allegheny, Carthage, and St. Norbert tournaments to get there.

Alma is probably the school most affected by the peninsular nature of the state's geography.

Alma and Adrian get no help from the 200 mile rule.  Everyone else gets at least a few more options around Chicago other than GL Region or administrative region teams.

That's a good point on Adrian. The only thing that helps them is that they are that much closer to the Ohio schools that the MIAA has been chided for not scheduling.

Adrian College 2013-14 schedule is out also:

http://www.adrianbulldogs.com/sports/m-baskbl/2013-14/schedule

They are at the same Allegheny tournament as Alma.  They are also @Franklin, @Mount Union tournament, and Carnegie Mellon at home.  I think their games against Siena Heights, Marygrove, UM Dearborn, Concordia and Lawrence Tech are Non Division III games.

That's not likely going to be an improvement over last years weak non-conference schedule.

WOTS is that Hope alum, Ryan Klingler, will be named Varsity BBall coach at Holland HS.

Not sure if it has been reported on this board, but Mitch Vallie will not be returning to Calvin in the fall.
Sorry if I haven't posted in FOREVER, It is because I smashed a hole in my computer after hearing Vallie is leaving  :-[ ??? :'(
He was a quality player and could have played quality minutes. After looking up CoF and having a conversation w/ family members we have found there spot in basketball... High school Scrimages
