Are there any thoughts here as to who might replace Dave Nielson as the Commissioner?   Does the President's Council hire a search firm? I'm curious about the selection process.

I hear Bud Selig will be looking for a job next year.

The heck with Bud Selig. Give the commish job to an actual Michigander:

K did well in the D.  WSU's biggest leads came in the final 4 minutes.  Held Kzoo without a FG from the floor after being tied at 60 with 4 to play.

Turnovers  K 20 WSU 8  and that was really the only difference

Ghafari had 23 Peters 13

Olivet 108  Illinois Tech 50

Illinois Tech is some kind of bad.  I know for sure Olivet broke its school record for points scored and I'm sure many others.

Krum 18, Woodson 11, Kaczmarczyk 11, Union 10

He may not have a nationally syndicated TV show of his own, but if we're going to venture into the Michigan legal realm for the next MIAA leqader, how in the world has the conversation not included our resident counselor old knight?  I can see it already--goodknight handling all the PR, knightslappy doing all the polling and statistical analysis, and oldknight starting to insert shameless plugs for himself in posts on this forum.  And if we're really lucky, maybe he'll even start his own twitter account and perfect the art of the selfie at various MIAA venues to promote his candidacy!?  #commishwish

I came away impressed by the Hornets. They played hard and owned the boards.  That Tartars team was ripe for the taking. Too many TO's, especially guards getting their pockets picked, led to easy buckets for WSU.   K has a nice 1-2 punch with Ghafari and Peters. Ghafari reminded me of Rhinehart, plays really, really smart off the ball. He knows what needs to be done to get open.

It's the first game I've seen under Coach Dugal.  I really like the direction he has the program headed in.

Spent the entire morning trolling the MIAA website for application materials and came up empty. If maintaining a twitter account is one of the commissioner's responsibilities, I'm in trouble.

In all seriousness, MIAA commish is one job I think I would enjoy. Considering how much time I spend at conference athletic events, Mrs. OldKnight thinks I was Neilson's assistant anyway. One downside would be that if I got hired I would have to give up posting on D3 hoops. Of course, some of you would consider that to be an upside, and would boost my candidacy.

No need to worry about any conflicts of interest.  I took your concerns to the highest levels and was told, "if you want to keep your D3 hoops account you can keep it and if you want to keep being Oldknight you may."  By the way, the website for applying is down for repairs because so many people across the country are trying to apply for this position.  I heard that in the first day alone, six people applied.

I'd like to submit this for an early contender for POY.  Mrs. Northb even did a spit-take on that one!

The latest D3Hoops top 25 now has Calvin at 14 and Wheaton at 22.  Hope is not mentioned at all, but I suspect that is a result of their so far challenging schedule and may change later in the season.

Albion at Kenyon tonight.  Kenyon has a couple curious losses to Earlham and Muskingum.  Ordinarily I'd give Albion a strong nod toward the win column but these have been close games that have come down to the wire every time they've played.

2013  Kenyon 70  at Albion 65
2011  at Albion 71 Kenyon 66
2009  at Kenyon 61  Albion 55

To this point the MIAA is 0-8 against teams from the Great Lakes Region.

Yeah, I've heard that when teams play teams that are better than them and lose more games than they win, then they usually don't get ranked.  I guess that makes sense.

Kenyon led for near double digits for a majority of the game.
