And we have some more postponed games.  From the MIAA website:

Trine at Adrian, postponed until Thursday, 7:30 p.m.
Albion at Alma, postponed until Thursday, 8 p.m.

I96 and I94 have been real life bumper car rides East of Lansing and Jackson.

Calvin 67
Hope 61

I've been shocked at the almost complete silence on here--the game is tonight, right?  ;)  Kinda reminded me of the quiet locker room before the big game until your post amj--thanks for breaking the silence!

Upon further reflection, however, I'm wondering if others don't feel the same way I do, no matter what side of the fence you are on--I don't have a gut feeling on this game like I did last time and I honestly won't be surprised by any result.   And I mean any result...

Last time I think most agreed that Calvin was the favorite, and I predicted a close Calvin win but my gut feeling was that it was a toss-up and I shared that and my reasoning.  But I can honestly say that I don't have a gut feeling on this one at all.  And that's pretty unusual...

I'm going to assume that I've inhaled too much in the way of snow blower exhaust fumes, that I'm lightheaded from shoveling 1200 pounds of end-of-the-driveway snow for the 10th time in the last 3 weeks because my snowblower sucks, and that if I sit down in a warm dry place with an adult beverage I might be able to formulate a gut feeling about the game.  But by that time the game will have started.  Go Knights!

If you scan the pick em' selections, there aren't many "hardcore" Hope or Calvin fans exuding great confidence in their team through their selections-lots of 1's and 2's across the board. No matter how many years you've supported and cheered, regardless of how well your team has recently played, when it come to The Rivalry.....you simply never know

Calvin doesn't show up to play.  Why I am I not that surprised?

Hope's offense looks crisp, and they can find the open man.  Calvin is running the 3-man weave on the top of the key, turning the ball over, way too much one on one stuff, Dykstra and Kruis nearly non-existent on the offensive end.

But Calvin's 3 pt defense is much better. Hope only 2-11 from three. #amirite

Dear Hope,
You are really good at basketball.

They're playing pretty well...Calvin's making them look a lot better.

Shoveling the heavy snow at the end of my driveway for the umpteenth time was more entertaining than that crapfest.    ??? >:( >:( ???

So, does anyone think a team, other than Calvin, has a shot at winning the league?
Yup...  ::)

Give credit to the Dutchmen--this one wasn't close.  Their defense was outstanding and their ball pressure made Calvin hurried and unsettled on offense for a good portion of the night.  Offensively, they really controlled tempo--MN again referenced wanting to play "faster" at halftime as he headed to the locker room (much as he did in the first game).  They seemed to get the message, because they were even more effective pushing it in the 2nd half--created a ton of open 3's, driving lanes, and dump offs for layups/dunks, and pretty quickly slammed the door shut on any thoughts of a Calvin comeback.

Color me puzzled.  Did not see that coming.  Hope took the Knights to the woodshed.  Maybe the third time will be different, if there is a third matchup this year.
