Keep in mind that a state's political policies, and thus the budgetary process for state-run universities, are subject to change. What isn't subject to change are facts on the ground, in the form of facilities that are already in place. Have any of you ever seen UW-Whitewater's athletic facilities? Taken as a whole, they're pretty darned impressive by D3 standards.

Pretty darned impressive indeed.  In my very humble opinion UW-Whitewater's athletic facilities are the second best in all of D3.  http://calvinknights.com/facilities/index/  :)

WOTS is that Hope has added another professor to their faculty.  Professor Carlson.  Wonder if he is any relation to the Carlson's that played at Hope and coached basketball there? ;) Possibly this is old news? I have no official proof, so I'll refrain from sharing the other tidbits heard in the last day

I guess that I must've missed that 11,000-seat football stadium the last time that I was on the Calvin campus. ;)

I also heard he was on campus a couple weeks ago.

Well, the Master's Degree requirement automatically eliminates one of the early local legend favorites

Or a switch of genders for a current Hope basketball coaching legend?

Morehouse removed himself from consideration.

Thanks, HoopDreams.  This was new news to me, but I've since heard confirmation.  Very nice addition of a fine person and kinesiology scholar.

fwiw and from what I've learned this morning (which is no more than this) , Dr. C. Carlson is not the next head coach at Hope College but as stated, a fine addition to Hope's Kinesiology Department.

I was also informed by a fairly credible source that Dr. Carlson was encouraged to take on a greater role and responsibility than JV head but less than Head Coach....I thought that tidbit was odd.....and apparently, although someone is not allowed on campus due to impending litigation, he/she is still able to run the summer team camps through said college.....I thought that tidbit was odd as well...

This is great.  Post season MIAA gossip is almost as exciting as pre season baseball hot stove league gossip.  Keep it coming, fun to read and speculate.

I wouldn't read too much into that, given that there are thousands of printed copies of that circulating for the last 6 months or so.

I wanted to say that too but am trying really hard to build karma....it's a new year, a new me.  The brochure was likely created a while back but I spoke to a coach who has taken his program there for years and he said that this week, MN clearly stated " he was still running it"
