What was really surprising in the Kalamazoo loss is the fact that they out-shot Defiance by such a large margin, making 44% of all shots and even 64% if the three point shots.  It appears that the category that made the difference was rebounding and the resulting extra shots that were available.  In every other category they appeared quite close.

I don't know what to make of the HCAC teams.  Sometimes they appear good, this same Defiance team beat Wheaton, sometimes not, Hanover lost to SLIAC Spalding last night.  Both are considered favorites in the league.   Tomorrow night Albion hosts the other favorite Mt. St. Joseph.

Kalamazoo is playing a lot more under control this year, maybe they're able to keep games closer.

G  Luke Dreyer 6-2 Fr. Zeeland, has been added to Hope's varsity roster in place of Jordan Denham.  I have no reason for Jordan's absence.

Hope has seven lefties on the roster now.

If you are not watching North Park and Chicago right now, you are missing a terrific game.  Overtime has just begun.

Albion lost to Mt. St. Joseph 61-57 in overtime.  Sounds as if they are really competing well with some tough teams.  The loss seemed to come from being out rebounded and, surprising to me at least, turnovers.

I'm happy to see Mount Union schedule a couple road games in Holland.  They play Olivet tonight and Hope tomorrow.  I know Hope is always tough so that'll be good for the Raiders to see a quality team outside the OAC, especially on the road.  Don't know much about Olivet though.  I like that Fuline scheduled Wooster and Hope on the road.  It'll prepare them well.

Coach Fuline just tweeted a pic from Hope.  What a cool venue!  That's a great looking gym.

Quite possible that I'm biased, but DeVos is certainly one of the best DIII hoops venues out there.  Coupled with very strong fan support, it's a great atmosphere!

That's fantastic!  Looked like it was a full house too.  Great to see that type of support.
