What are the chances of Satuday's Calvin/Trine game being postponed due to the weather?

Gotta be slim to none.  Going to be really cold with windchills in the -20 to -35 range Saturday afternoon and evening.  Only supposed to get an inch or so of snow.

Oh how I am torn! Do I root for calvin so that Hope can host a semi-final game with a couple wins? Or do I root for Trine, because rooting for calvin is oh so icky?
Let's go Dutchmen!

Miami of Ohio is honoring Charlie Coles on Saturday afternoon.  FoxOhio wrote a nice piece interviewing Chris Coles who will be attending the ceremony.  It also explains in a little better detail why Chris isn't on the sidelines right now.  Worth the read.

What you do is watch with mild interest then jump on the bandwagon of the winning team in the final minutes. Either way you can sleep well and claim you're happy with the result.

A Calvin win gives Hope the inside track on the #2 seed (assuming they can win at Alma).
A Trine win gives Hope some life for winning the league outright (both Trine and Calvin have to go to Albion still, and no one ever likes to play there).

At this point, what difference does it make?
I doubt who you root for will make any difference in the outcome.

Trine fun facts:

W/L at home: 9-1 (6-0 in conference)
W/L away: 4-6 (2-3 in conference)

Massey power in home MIAA games: 11.3
Massey power in away MIAA games: -3.6

(i.e. avg Massey power of opponents + avg margin of victory)

Doubt it means much but.....

A few players from Kalamazoo said the two rims at Trine at very different (one is very forgiving, the other is like concrete).  The home team shoots at the easier rim in the second half.

I've lived in GR since 1990 and am thinking about going to the Calvin-Trine game tomorrow.  This will be my first game at Van Noord.  Any suggestions for a "first timer"?
Reality is for those who lack imagination 😀

Trine shot 38% in the first half against Kalamazoo and 76% in the second half.  Kzoo went from 48% to 44% - i haven't looked at those stats for all of their home games but maybe an observer at their next home game will report how forgiving each of these rims appear.

You may want to get there early if you want some time near one of the fireplaces.

sit in the lower bowl or nothing.

Agreed the lower bowl is the place to sit. Avoid the near endzone seats though. Pretty rough crowd there.

I've been to every home MIAA game this year at Trine and haven't noticed anything abnormal about how the balls come off the rim on either end.  In the Kalamazoo game Trine just shot lights out in the 2nd half, especially Dixon with many of his shots from 20+ feet with guys in his face.  In the game before that against Adrian, as I recall Adrian lit it up in the 2nd half against us with that supposedly tight rim.

With Hershey's quirky north end of the gym, with the open mezzanine looking down on the court and glare from the natural light coming in from the upper entry doors on day games, I would think as a player the sight lines would make it more difficult to shoot at that end than at the south end.  Frankly I don't see how anyone shoots well in Hershey because the gym lighting is so bad...does anyone else think it is dim in there?  My eyesight isn't as good as it used to be however...I am an old man you know.  ;D
