Best dunk in the history of D3.
This one was pretty epic as well, although it's just as much about the pass as the actual dunk...

If judging based on entertainment value alone, USA is my all time favorite.

Also the best dunk in the history of D3.

Adrian has an interesting volunteer assistant this year.

Hmmm.  Wonder what his connection to Adrian is?  Buddy with the HC?  Or just has a job in the area and wanted to coach?

This article from last Winter sheds a little light on their relationship.  Apparently Talley helped them out last Winter as well, either I forgot that or missed it.

I notice that Greg Fleming from GRCC is no longer listed as going to Calvin.  He had really sounded like a strong player.  Anyone know what happened to his  plans?  I have also heard about a 6' 5" forward with the last name of Ray from West Michigan Christian, who was interested in going to Hope or Calvin.  Anyone know what his plans are?

Thanks for the information.  Sounds like he received a scholarship, and he is probably totally deserving.

Fleming was extremely excited to be heading to Calvin, but his last semester at GRCC was not stellar academically, so his plans shifted.
Jacob Ray from Western Michigan Christian is coming to Calvin, according to his high school coach, Kyle Mastenbrook.

Kalamazoo Schedule - A trip to San Antonio.  First time through the conference, road games at Trine, Albion, Calvin & Hope in a five week stretch.   Obviously, it is flipped second time through but still a tough stretch for games 2-7 in the conference.

The other two teams at the Case Western tournament are Otterbein and Wheaton

Adrian also appears on Case Western's schedule, potentially twice.  Once as a game at Case, the second in a tournament at Allegheny.

Since eFG% was thrown around I thought it would be interesting to compare Jordan Brink's Sr. season vs a couple of other Midwest guys who got a lot of hype and recognition throughout their careers.

eFG%
Jordan Brink, Calvin 2015                    60.7%
Kent Raymond,  Wheaton 2009          56.7%
Steve Djurickovic,  Carthage 2011       49.0%
Steve Cramer, Hope 2007                   57.5%

I don't remember all the accolades Jordan walked away with for last season but I'm not sure it was enough.

Thanks, I was going to go back and check Brink's eFG but got sidetracked.

I knew Brink had an insanely efficient season so the biggest surprise to me on that list was Cramer's eFG%. I know he had a tremendous season but I wouldn't have expected him to out-eFG Kent Raymond. I'm guessing the athleticism that made him a tremendous finisher at the rim was an area he fared better than others on the list.

I'm not terribly surprised to see Stevie D's number. He was more of a scorer than a shooter and racked up stats on volume.

Yes and no. You're forgetting that a big part of Stevie D.'s game was drawing fouls off of the dribble. He shot a ridiculous number of free throws over the course of his career (839-997, .842). Those 839 free-throw makes accounted for nearly a third of the 2,547 points he scored in his four years with the Red Men. Brink, by comparison, went 309-341 (.906) from the free-throw line as a Knight. Made free throws accounted for only about a fifth of his 1,497 career points.

Of course, another big part of Djurickovic's game was his ability to involve his teammates as a distributor. He dished out a phenomenal 649 assists over the course of his career. Brink dished out 282.

Speaking of eFG% just wanted to note that Scott Nikodemski had eFG% of 58.4% total and 61% in conference play. And this is without being much of a three point threat.
