Calvin and Carthage will apparently keep their rivalry alive. The Red Men's schedule shows them hosting the Knights in Kenosha on Tuesday, November 29

Looks like Calvin will be traveling to Wheaton as well.

Carthage and Wheaton both on the road, but don't worry, there will probably be an exciting game against Grace Bible and/or Finlandia on the home schedule!

Umm, not probably.....Finlandia and Grace at home.   Augustana and Anderson as well.

Two trips to Wisconsin in same week.  Carthage on Tuesday, W Oshkosh on Saturday.

Two games at Wittenberg over the holidays.

Augustana is nice but it sounds like another blah home non-con schedule.

sac

The cupboard is far from bare at Augustana but they lose 8 Sr's including their entire starting 5 from this past season.   Anderson lost only one Sr. a bench player, it would not shock me if Anderson was picked among the top 3 or 4 for the HCAC next season after finishing 6th this last Winter.

Aubry Hainsworth  6-5 F  West Bloomfield will attend Albion.

Anderson is one of my under the radar teams this year and def. the year after...lots of young talent coming up for Coach Handy. A lot of their offensive production this past year came from freshman and sophomores.

The latter contest is Wheaton's way of filling a bye, as that's one of the three December dates that the newly-expanded CCIW will have to utilize for league play. Wheaton's the odd team out that night among the CCIW nine.

Quote from: sac on May 03, 2016, 08:43:49 PMThe women's MIAA schedule is different than last, so no Calvin/Hope M/W back-to-back games next year.
As the MIAA continues to refuse to use what little marketing juice they have.

Yesterday I was told that Allen Bos, a  6'7" (?) forward from Grand Rapids Christian, was transferring from Davenport College to Calvin.  Does anyone know anything about him and whether he has the ability to play at a college level?

His name is Alex Bos and he's in the 6'4" range, not 6'7". I saw him play in high school and thought he would be a good basketball fit at Calvin. He's a good athlete, was a tight end in high school, went to Davenport to play football but apparently is now headed to the Knollcrest campus. I don't know if he's interested in resuming his career on the hardwood but I think he could prove to be a good MIAA player if he does. Bos displayed good footwork, a reliable mid range jumper, gets off the floor very quickly and, going from memory, averaged about 12 a game for the Eagles. He hasn't played competitively in well over a year (a 2015 grad) so he would need a year of seasoning at the JV level.

Yes, there is such a thing. The only question is how much value it provides. I'll let your metrics help decide the question. In the FWIW category, the Calvin player with the best mid-range shot I ever saw was Mark Veenstra, and he was a four time conference MVP.
