Saturday's Hope/Calvin game efficiency:

Hope  .819 points per poss
Calvin  .865  points per poss

I have 5 years of Hope in game efficiency data, this was Hope's lowest offensive output since 2013 when Hope's Fr got run off the VanNoord floor in the MIAA Championship game.  It was Hope's least efficient offensive performance of the season by a substantial margin.

At least on my data, this was the first time Hope's lost a game giving up less than .90 ppp, thats about 140 games of data
Any chance you have the data on the other MIAA teams? And is that in conference or overall? Also, is it too much to ask if you have the points per poss on defensive also? Sorry for all the questions!

Check here on numbers for the season overall  :)

Does Hope get an at-large bid?

They are a lock. Stong WP (.791 should they lose semifinal) and solid SOS (over .520) with solid wins over RRO such as UW River Falls and John Carroll and #2 in GL as of last week.

Lock is a bit strong, but Hope should feel pretty safe even if they happen to lose to Alma in the semifinals.

Hope could maybe fall as far as No. 7 in the final GL rankings (I'm not looking into every single detail, just dreaming up possible worst case scenarios) if the wrong results happen in conference tournaments.

Mount St. Joseph over Hanover in the HCAC, Ohio Wesleyan over Wooster in the NCAC, and John Carroll over Marietta in the OAC. Maybe that even doesn't push them down that far, I'm not sure.

I'd rather they just win the next two games at home and not have to worry about it :)

WOTS is one sister each @ both Hope & Wheaton made it more than just a gimme. More like a free throw maybe.

This is random but on the tv broadcast Saturday they said that the last OT game for a Calvin-Hope game before that one was 2007 , when in fact it was 2003.  I'm curious how WGVU screwed that up. #FirstWorldProblems

The women played an OT game that year.  Somewhere along the way  research was crossed by someone.

Jeremy Veenstra's last game. He was spectacular that night with 29 points, 18 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks. Unfortunately for Calvin, Don Overbeek was equally spectacular.

Unfortunately, my clearest memory of that season was not Veenstra or Don "Diesel" Overbeek, but Tim Dworak of UW-Oshkosh putting on a show in the Dow Center.

That was quite the game - all of us jammed into Kresge for one of the better rivalry games I've witnessed (probably has a bit to do with the outcome from my perspective I suppose)

Geez, Calvin only got 1 recruit out of that group? And it's another coaches son so it hardly counts. Burning down the recruiting trail aren't we Calvin fans?
