Joel Holstege's 39 in the title game against Rowan in 96 is probably still the best given the circumstances and competition.

I didn't see that one, but I've heard about it. I was just going with the ones I've witnessed.

Hope played sweet 16 opponent Hanover at home last season  http://www.miaa.org/mbb/stats/1516/1221haho.htm

That win ended up being one of the two or three you could point to that kept Hope in the NCAA tournament picture last season.  Dante Hawkins was fouled on the game tying 3-point attempt with :01 left and made all 3 ft's to send the game to OT where Hope won.  Hanover played a great game that day.

Both teams lost 3 or 4 players so its not quite the same teams as a year ago.  They've been neck and neck with Hope all of February in the regional rankings.

Common opponents:

Hanover 90 John Carroll 89  neutral court
WashU 81  Hanover 61  @ WashU
Hanover 81  Alma 67   neutral court

I have been baffled all year by the weak'ish crowds and numb atmosphere at DeVos this year.  Even last night only 2,400 for an NCAA tournament game against WashU.

Maybe now the Hope community will finally get behind this team.

Watching the video feed of the games last night I was impressed by the "number now watching".  That may be draining some of the crowd off, as well as, the women playing seemed to have a fair # of fans in KY.
Do Hope season ticket holders get preference for those seats at tournament games?

Curious, what kind of numbers were you seeing?

I have as well.  The single biggest problem has been student support. Even last night the student section wasn't half full. Both the past weekends the Dew Crew has been a disappointment in terms of turnout, even if those who show up are spirited enough.

I suspect the overall turnout numbers are down this year, but I guess we will find out soon enough. In any case, Sac is right that the atmosphere just hasn't been the same. I don't know exactly what this can be attributed to. One hypothesis: I see a lot more people spending a lot more time with their noses in their cell phones - a regrettable cultural trend in general, and one that may be affecting crowd attention and participation. If the cell phone is not the worst invention ever, it's certainly on the short list. I can't prove that's the reason, of course, but I'd be surprised if it's not a contributing factor.

Normal numbers are generally below 100.  Hope has quite a few followers, and have seen numbers in the 250-350 range on occasion.  Last night numbers in 600+ range, and one over 800.  Typically I will have multiple games open, and flip between them to catch scores and action.  Not sure which games had which numbers, but recall thinking both Hope games had a ton of viewers.
Hope does a really good job with their video production.  One of the few at this level that have replay capability.  Really like the high light shots of action that they use during time outs.  Stuive had some really sweeeeet shots. :)

When you can no longer bash on Hope's team, its time to move on to an easier target and start bashing millennials.
Its a great day to be a Dutchman!
