There really isn't much I can do when the trolls are supported and encouraged by management.  Sorry guys.

What I would love to hear is.....the "GUYS" who supposedly know so much about D3 basketball would refer to the conference as...

The M. I. Double A

Shows their lack of knowledge and preparation when they consistently say in an interview with a conference coach as the M.I.A.A.

Dave, seeing you would love to see that Hope fans face, try practicing M.I double A

I'm older than dirt and all my life I've heard the conference name pronounced both ways. I think it's a matter of personal preference, not an indicator of any lack of knowledge or preparation.

Ok, maybe dirt has something to do with it.  I may or may not be older than dirt, however, I have been attending games since 1982...

I have never at Calvin, at Hope, at KZoo, at Albion (can't say for the other places) heard welcome to this M.I.A.A game, always M.I Double A game

I have never heard Ed Douma, KVS, GVW, MN, GM, Joe Hacklin, Mike Turner or Jody May say, we are so proud to win the M.I.A.A. conference title or conference tournament, always M.I. Double A.

So in 2017/2018 lets go with M.I.A.A.  because Dave and the Dirt said so

Dude - get over it. Every Hope fan is upset or mad or disappointed in last night, but what difference does it make how you say the name of an acronym.

Considering I have had coaches in interviews say M-I-A-A... had SIDs in the conference say the same... and fans... I don't think it shows my lack of knowledge or preparation. That is how the conference was introduced to me a very long time ago and how it continues to be discussed in conversations. And considering I hear M-I-double-A FAR less often than M-I-A-A from those within the conference, I am going to stick with what I have been saying for awhile.

And just because I say it differently than you do doesn't mean I have any lack of knowledge or preparation. I am sure my wife would testify to the amount of time I spend on Hoospville on a daily and weekly basis... considering, outside of donations to help pay the bills and upgrade equipment plus pay for a trip or two, I don't make a dime on the show the fact I spend 40-hours or more each week on the program could be argued as time not well spent.

I am also quite sure many can contend that I might know a thing or two about Division III basketball (and the division as a whole), though certainly I don't know everything and I will admit when I am wrong. But to say because I say M-I-A-A that I lack knowledge and preparation is ridiculous.

Augie, good luck tonight at in the "great" 8.

However, I must say, the head coach of Augustana sure is a shining example of how a D3 coach should treat his players.

His display on the bench/sidelines several times last night, but for sure, his coaching "instruction" at half court in the 2nd half during a timeout last night, while he did his best "Bobby Knight" impression, should make Augie Fans and Administration extremely proud.

DISGRACEFUL!

You might be able to accuse Dave McHugh of a lot of things, but a lack of knowledge or preparation isn't one of them. I learn stuff from him all the time because he takes his job seriously.

As for Dirt, on the other hand . . . .

I'm not a fan of Coach G's on court theatrics, but he must be doing something right in regards to his players.  He brings in great student athletes who eagerly and enthusiastically play for him.  They love him.  And for the third straight year they're in the Elite Eight.

No arguing with the results.  Agree 100%.

However, to use your "theatrics", D3 could do with out...if all honesty, probably not a place for it in athletics.

However, I understand, a successful track-record and what have you done for me lately, sure gives much rope...which sometimes

For a guy who just registered five days ago... you sure think you know what you are talking about. Sounds more like to me you have just discovered these sites and think you are smarter than everyone else.

My wife may scratch her head about the amount of time I put into this... but she is also proud of the work and would be one of the most disappointed if I walked away from it - which is a risk each year when I need to find work. Don't pretend you have a clue... and no, the faces at the end of your post don't allow me to brush it off. I don't mind criticism, it comes with the territory. But when someone alleges I don't do my homework or put time and work into this... it ticks me off.

For the record, I have never, in my life, not once, heard someone say "M-I-double-A."

Of course, I don't say N-C-double-A either; I doubt I'll be adopting other monikers.

Heck, I'm still partial to "Wee-AC," but I'm definitely on an island there.

Is the game at DeVos sold out tonight?  I'd like to go. What's the best way to get tickets?

Find a Hope fan.  I'm sure there are plenty of tickets for sale.

This is the kind of stuff-that should tick you off.  Coming from your leadership

Show up and go to the ticket window. Parking will be plentiful. There will be less than a 1000 people there tonight.  Last night was not sold out.

Last night as I approached the ticket window, a Hope fan stopped me asked if I needed tickets. I said, "2". She handed me 2, I got my wallet out to pay, she said I could have them.  I thanked her and then she said " I hope you're cheering for Hope". I said "We're Calvin fans"!  Her look of disgust was priceless.

Now THAT was a moment I would have loved to have watched. You know she will never give away tickets ever again... without first asking if someone is a Calvin fan.

This too-but only SAC and I agree.
