I don't recall Olivet's schedule being posted previously.  Apologies if so.
http://olivetcomets.com/sports/mbkb/2017-18/schedule

I count 12 non-conference games and 2 exhibitions, that's one non-conference game too many  ???

Olivet has updated its schedule with two notable changes.

They did drop one of their games in Florida (Husson I think) which wasn't really scheduled and they also traded UW-Platteville for a trip to D2 Ferris State in November.

Actually another change too... they dropped Earlham and are instead playing at "Fort Wayne"... the night before they come to DeVette Tourney.  The only Fort Wayne I know is D1 IPFW... Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne....     Gives that recruiting class a chance to play the big boys....  Note, regular game, not an exhibition.
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Olivet played IPFW in a real  one last year, it went about how you might expect when it was Olivet who sat the regulars.   IPFW 115  Olivet 60

FYI - there is a very good chance "they" (Olivett) didn't drop that from the schedule. There is a good chance the team that had the game in there originally found their mistake and removed it (or discussed it with Olivett). These schedule systems and websites gather information from more than just the school's site which has a lot of benefits... it also has these glitches once in awhile. My point being, Husson could actually make a change and have it affect Olivett's website. There are pros and cons and SIDs discuss them internally and externally all of the time. It doesn't have to be debated here. I just wanted people to realize how it all works if they were not aware.

"Olivett"   ??? ??? ???   ;D ;D ;D

per the SBell and the twitter verse

Trevor Manuel  6-8 F/C   Lansing Sexton--Oak Hill Academy--Lansing Everett--Oregon--Loyola Marymount will attend Olivet.

By my estimation the highest rated recruit to ever attend a D3 school in the rankings era.   https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/2015/trevor-manuel-7292

Going to be interesting.

How much is Olivet paying him?

Probably nothing, but I'm sure he'll be called a thug when he bumps into one of your blonde haired kids. ::)

How many D1 transfers has Hope had over the years?  Maybe that's why you reacted defensively.

You're an asshat SAC. If you can honestly say that this transfer doesn't raise eyebrows you're out of your mind. I remember hearing about Peter Bunn's "leadership" award and how even the kids at hope knew it was a joke, not to mention a kid that played at OREGON and now ends up on a bottom feeding D3 team? Get out of here with that holier than thou stuff. Also, maybe you should spend some time outside west Michigan before you start talking down about blonde haired kids.

Eh, asshat or not, there's always been the faint wiff and sometimes more of school A has a better player than Calvin, they must be cheating around here since Day one.  Not to mention the several times the near 4.0 students at another school gets called a thug because he was tougher than one of your guys.

PSA:  I've been outside West Michigan for 10 years now, if you include the 18 years I grew up outside West Michigan that's well over half my life.

Thought it was posted on the board prominently but maybe not.

Trevor Manuel played for Coach Ernst at Summit Christian Academy in Lansing in 8th grade.  There's obviously some kind of coach/player relationship there, not to mention Ernst's generally excellent ties to the Lansing basketball scene where he has spent the majority of his life and coaching career.

If you think things through, its pretty plausible a player like Manuel ended up at Olivet.    I even said as much in PM's prior to it happening even when I thought it was maybe 5% chance of happening.  After two transfers in 18 months from D1 what D1 coach is going to give him an opportunity.

Anyway, there's even been some talk his announced transfer to Olivet was a little pre-mature as he apparently had not been accepted to the school the day he announced according to some.  But I don't know that for sure.   He was a no show the night I attended the local pro-am games where he would have played with Olivet transfer Michael Fomby.

<sigh>  ::) no I wouldn't

Due to a common genetics issue my right leg is slightly shorter than the left so if anything I lean to the right.

I sometimes wonder how many of my "smites" are from calvin fans... I would guess around 80%...

Marygrove College is dropping its undergraduate programs, no official announcement but that would end their athletics programs as well.  WHAC drops to 11 schools.

I haven't seen Marygrove on an MIAA schedule in men's basketball this year.

I believe this the most recent list of recruits to the MIAA schools, and it leaves out several players including Trevor Manuel, who should have quite an impact if he stays around.  Has anyone put together an update with the point guard to Trine and others that have committed since this list was put together?  I would also be very interested if anyone has watched enough high school games to have some  idea how the freshman and new recruits in addition to Trevor are likely to impact the league competition?  I notice the tallest player in the list is going to Kalamazoo.  Is a player of a project?

For Alma you can add Arthell Rosquist 6'1" a transfer from Rockford, Bryce Williams 6'2" from Saginaw Heritage and Matt Lark 5'10" from Thornapple Kellogg

Trevor Manuel was on Steve Bell's 2015 "Dream Team"

Past history says a handful of these guys will play some this year but much depends on a schools needs.   For instance I think Preston Granger will get minutes for Hope mostly because Hope is so thin in the post, but Calvin Hackert will find minutes hard to come by based on Hope's guard depth.

I use Bell's list because its the most thorough.   I'd be surprised if Olivet's best Fr. recruit isn't DeAndre' Robinson from East Lansing, but he didn't make any all-state lists which to my eyes is a little weird.
