Mine is a little more "glitchy" than normal.

Adrian's players, along with Coach Lindsey, should be embarrassed with that 1st half. They only trail one, but the amount of really bad turnovers is terrible. 13 turnovers, and at least half of those were stepping out of bounds with no pressure and moving screens. That, along with with another bad rebounding game (have allowed 7 offensive boards to having only 2), has caused Albion to have 11 more shots than the Bulldogs.

Jordan Harris also currently 1 for 7.

A home loss here would be a big blow. They need to get fired up in this 2nd half and play smart. And if they are down, they need to pressure them with some traps.

I changed the quality and that fixed the problem.

Big game at VNA tonight, Calvin figured out how to Finish.

TUAngola

Olivet 70 Trine 61

Well that was a dud.

Olivet with payback in defeating the Thunder tonight.  I thought the key to game was Olivet's defense, they had Trine confused more than any team I've seen in the MIAA this year, really good perimeter and interior defense.  Most of Trine's offense came from guys trying to create shots on their own, which mostly didn't work.  Trine with way too many turnovers as well, both forced and carelessness.  A tight whistle on Trine's end and a loose one on Olivet didn't help.  Hunter was in foul trouble most of the night, couple of them were so ticky tack.  Add all this up and it wasn't our night.

Olivet with comfortable lead most of the way.  Trine did get it down to 2 pts on a couple occasions in the 2nd half but Olivet always had answer with either drives to the basket by Edmond or an opportune 3ball from Brocker.  Mason had a good game too for Olivet, really carried them in the 1st half.  Olivet won it by getting a ton more free throws than Trine.  The last 6 minutes or so Olivet's offense consisted of clear outs for Edmund and let him get to the hoop most often drawing fouls or dishing.

Olivet's coach sure is a funny dude...I've never seen anyone call a time out just to hassle the refs...he didn't even talk to his team in the huddle.  He's a big time complainer, I think he's more into that then anything during the game.  But hey, whatever works him I guess.

Albion 62 Adrian 67

Adrian won this game for a couple reasons, but the one main reason was they are simply better than Albion. They, however, did not play better. And other games against better teams will be double digit losses.

Adrian were improved in the 2nd half in some of their deficiencies of the 1st half. They rebounded better (4 to 4 in offensive boards), limited turnovers to 6, and had the same number of shots.

On top of all that, Adrian won the game for 3 main reasons:
1. Great defense. Adrian can overcome some of their annoying offensive issues with their great rotations and strong help play. Even much of the shots hit by Albion were well contested.
2. Free Throws. Adrian was in the bonus with 10:30 left in the 2nd half. I think we were down 1, but felt pretty good about winning the game at that moment.
3. Some key 3 pointers in the 2nd half. They didn't shoot well, but they hit 3's when they needed to, especially Colbert who hit his 3 in the 2nd half.

Colbert actually was out for awhile in the 2nd half before he played an important role down the stretch. Not sure why, but he also didn't start last game, so there's something. My theory would be the occasional poor shot selection (he sometimes pull from real deep).

Offensively, the team is still led by their bigs, though Kalonji plays more like a wing. Jeremy was 3 of 5 from 3, finished with 16, and Webster had 17 which I thought was solid considering Albion really collapsed on most of his attacks. He was also clutch with a massive and strong inside spin move with 15 seconds to put Adrian up by 3, and then hit the 2 free throws after rebounding the miss 8 seconds lateR.

Indeed, I thought Olivet's defense was at times excellent tonight.  From somewhere middle first to around the last 5 of the first their zone was sensational.

Olivet might have got to the line a lot but boy were they awful, leaving at least 14 points at the line.  This really shouldn't have been a close game.

Thought Trine looked sluggish and tired tonight.  Nowhere near the energy they had Saturday.

+1 for road win
-1 for home loss

Olivet    6-3    +2    (@Kzo, ALM, ADR, HPE, @Cal)
Adrian   6-3    +1    (TRN, @Hpe, @OLI, ALM, @KZO)
Hope     6-3    +1    (@Cal, ADR, @Alm, @Oli, ALB)
Trine      5-4   +0    (@Adr, CAL, @Alb, KZO, @Alm)
Alma     4-5      0     (ALB, @Oli, HPE, @Adr, TRN)
Albion    4-5     0      (@Alm, KZO, TRN, CAL, @Hpe)
Calvin    4-5     0     (HPE, @Trn, KZO, @Alb, OLI)
Kazoo    1-8    -4     (OLI, @Alb, @Cal, @Trn, ADR)

Unless Olivet completely lays an egg Saturday the Comets will be in first place with 3 of their last 4 at home.

Trine went from catbird seat, to in a pretty tight spot now.  They've got Hope and Olivet out of the way but tough roadies to Adrian, Albion (?) and Alma waiting.

Amazing scenario:
Calvin wins out
Hope wins next four after Calvin loss
Olivet wins first 3, then drop last two

Calvin's win over Olivet hands Hope the outright MIAA title.  ;)

Can you imagine the MIAA Tournament at Cutler? Can they really seat 1,000 people in there?

It wasn't pretty but a gut check win for Calvin last night.  Alma never gave up, and actually got the lead a couple of time late in the game.  Even though Calvin held a size advantage, Alma battled them pretty tough in the paint.

There will be a lot of unhappy people if Calvin and Hope both make the tournament, especially if they somehow play each other in the finals at the CEC

Is there actual discussion going on (from people who actually make these decisions) about letting him go or him retiring at the end of the season? If not, I would guess that he will be back.
