Mr. Ypsi

Gotta love the 'senior' trash-talk!  Jalen Rose's grandmother posted on his Twitter (?) account a message to Sister Jean (the 98-year old nun who is Loyola (Chicago) team chaplain): "It's been a good run, but it's over.  Go Blue!"  Since she is 100, I guess she can get away with 'dissing' the younger woman! ;D

Reviewing what teams lose and who returns for next season.  Another difficult year to predict next year I think.  These are most used players during conference play. Sorted by a combo of starts and mins

Trine 12-14,  8-6 3rd tie
Langton Johnson  G  So.
Pete Smith  G  Jr.
Marcus Winters  G  So.
Myles Copeland  F  Jr.
Maurice Hunter  F  So.
------------------
Jason Clune  G  So.
Nick Daman  G.  So.
Sean Corcoran  F  Jr.
Jared Dishop  F  Jr.

Trine can return its entire roster and in a sane world should get some serious looks as pre-season favorite yet they were just 12-14 on the season.  Trine has had some weird attrition lately, including the red flag in-season kind.  Brooks Miller usually plays a pretty short bench and tight rotation, but if they can add one or two really good players to this lineup, lookout and with an entirely upper class returning lineup they might not even have to do that.

An already tight league will probably get tighter next year.  21 Seniors overall, but half of them belong to Olivet and half of those hardly played in league games.  I don't see anyone that will obviously drop off substantially for next year to where they are non-competitive within the league.  Not sure I see anyone who is an obvious top 25 national player again either.

I would be very surprised if Marcus Winters plays BB for Trine next year.  This will be his Sr year in football next fall and the All American cornerback will probably use the winter to see if he has only pro interest.  Longshot for a D3 player but you never know.

I don't know if it was Coach Miller who inquired about Marcus playing BB the 2nd semester or the other way around.  Either way it was much needed boost to have Marcus play due to the aforementioned attrition at guard for Trine last year.

It isn't like there haven't been All-American football players who still play for their basketball teams even in their senior years, though. The list isn't super long, but there are few that jump out at me ... UW-Whitewater, Otterbein... :)

I'm confident each team will have a head coach and a staff of varying numbers.

Here's your staff update you've been dying to hear:

Alma assistant Ryan Clark has taken the head WOMENS job at Alma College. Congrats to Coach Clark. Great guy. Really excited to see what he does. Sad to lose him on the men's side but happy that he's staying in house.

Sac,
I know what you meant, but I figured for the sake of accuracy Indianapolis is in Indiana not Michigan.
