Yes, I plan on attending a game next Wed. night and the semi-finals and finals regardless of location.
I haven't been to Trine's new facility yet. I'm hoping Albion beats Calvin and then loses to Hope and Trine takes care of business...

One more home game and a trip to Angola would make for a fun week.

MTI is beautiful! You won't be disappointed in a trip to Angola (unless your team loses).

This year... anything seems possible. Could I see Hope winning their next 5 games... which would mean getting the 3 seed, winning at home against Alma/Kalamazoo and then going down to Algola and beating Albion and Trine? Yes. Could I see them losing tomorrow night to Olivet, this weekend at Kresge, and getting bounced at Calvin or Olivet before ever making it to MTI? Yep, I could see that happening too.

I feel like I could paint a similar story for every MIAA team. Even a host Trine could potentially end up playing a 4 or 5 seeded Olivet in the semis, a team that's beat them twice this season.

What exciting parity! Almost feels like playoffs start tomorrow night.

I know that some of us had mixed feeling about whether we liked a 6 team tournament or not, but it sure has brought us an exciting finish to the season with every game being key in deciding who gets in wand where do they play.  I realize this season (with all the "parity" in the league) would be exciting with a 4 team tourney as well, but I do like where we are.

Just been thinking about Kalamazoo - who we all wrote of 1/2 way through the season (at least many did).  They have a shot at the tournament, and then who knows - the way they played this past week they could beat anyone.

I would still like to see a return to the 8-team format, but I'll take the 6-team format for now. Limiting to 4 teams would have been awful this year.

Agree whole-heartedly!  We need all 8 teams in the tournament every year.

Wednesday rooting interests guide

Trine---  already clinched 1 seed or 2 seed, win combined with Albion loss clinches at least a Co-Championship

Albion---  Win clinches a 1 seed or 2 seed, win combined with Trine loss clinches at least a Co-Championship

Olivet---  Win clinches a home game

Calvin---  Win or clinches a home game at minimum

Hope---  Win combined with Albion win clinches a home game
Win combined with Calvin win does nothing for Hope
loss to Olivet clinches 5th seed

Alma/Kzoo---- 6th seed will be determined by results on final day.

Doesn't Kalamazoo clinch the 6th seed with a win and Alma loss tonight?

No if Alma beats Kzoo they would be tied and it would head to tie breakers to decide the 6 seed.

Though if Olivet gets the 3 seed and Kzoo gets the 6 that would put both teams back at Cutler, the scene of the post game fight.

Perez is in the house tonight at Hope. The officiating has been... a mystery to fans on both side. Coach Ernst looks perplexed with some of the calls. Hope can't miss a 3 tonight.

Guess where the MIAA party is next weekend...MTI Center on the campus of Trine U!  Plus the Trine women are hosting too...does that mean 4 games at MTI on Friday?

Trine locks up the 1 seed.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think...

Albion: 2 seed with win, 3 seed with loss and Olivet win, 5 seed with loss and Calvin win (Calvin beat Trine, Albion did not, hope has head to head)

Calvin: 2 seed with win and Albion loss, 3 seed if Calvin and Albion win, 4 seed if Hope and Calvin lose, 5 seed with loss and Hope wins (Olivet has tiebreaker in last two scenarios with head to head wins)

Hope: 2 seed with win and Calvin loss, 3 seed if both Hope and Calvin win (head to head over Albion), 4 seed with loss and Calvin win, 5 seed if both Hope and Calvin lose

Olivet: 3 seed with win and Hope loss (beat Trine, Hope didn't - head to head vs Calvin), 4 seed with loss and Albion wins, 5 seed with lose and Hope wins

Alma: Win and in.

Kalamazoo: Win and Alma loss- they're in.

If both Alma and Kalamazoo lose, I think we're going to a coin flip, folks. Again, correct me if I'm wrong, but either way, Saturday is going to be crazy!

Basically-

If Albion and Calvin win:

2. Albion
3. Calvin
4. Hope
5. Olivet

If Albion and Olivet win:

2. Albion
3. Olivet
4. Calvin
5. Hope

If Hope and Calvin win:

2. Calvin
3. Hope
4. Albion
5. Olivet

If Hope and Olivet win:

2. Hope
3. Albion
4. Olivet
5. Calvin

6 Seed

If Alma wins, Kzoo loses,   Alma is #6
If Alma wins, Kzoo wins,    Alma is #6 by tie-break better record vs combined teams ahead in standings  (Alma 3 wins, Kzoo 2 wins)
If Alma loses, Kzoo wins,   Kzoo is #6
If Alma loses, Kzoo loses   Both teams would have identical wins/losses vs opponents, Alma wins tie-break with 2 road wins vs Kzoo having 1

This is based off a tie-breaker chart I have from 2016.  I don't know if the MIAA has updated it.......or why it isn't easy for the public to find it :-\.
