Two 'N's' in Hartmann (and it will drive me nuts.)

Guessing Hope will be playing in Orlando again.....maybe soon. ;)

Fair point BUT Hope's AD has a daughter that is an All Conf player 2x and is a jr to be. His AD role absolutely precludes him from seeing all of her games. I'd venture to guess its the same for the Calvin AD.

Disagree, he is the AD and if he attends lots of women's games people wouldn't be surprised to see him there. It's his job after all. I saw Olivet's AD at almost every Men's game this year. I didn't think that was surprising.

Home games, when he can. But not all games. That's where the AD won't do it (coach) claim loses some water... still can't see ALL games even as the AD. Regardless, would not be a good move for Calvin to have its AD hire himself.

A typical D3 AD is able to see a lot of his or her school's women's basketball games. Not all of their games, to be sure, but a lot of them. I'd say that he or she could see anywhere from a third to as many as half of them, maybe even more if he or she plans strategically and travels when a road game is close enough not to interfere with the job.

In most leagues the men's basketball coach at the same school will only see the women's basketball team play when the school hosts a Saturday women's/men's doubleheader, or if they travel together on a Saturday. That adds up to somewhere between a fifth and a quarter of the women's games.

In other words, in a typical D3 situation an athletic director whose daughter plays for his or her school's women's basketball team will see a lot more of her games than a men's basketball coach will see of his daughter's games if she's playing for the women's basketball team at the same school.

This was the point I was trying to make, but it was done a lot better by Mr. Sager.
