I saw coach on campus with a recruit today and it must have been Noah, as he was wearing a Unity football sweatshirt. Coach also had his secret recruiting weapon with him today, his baby daughter. You can tell that coach is a family man and it's nice to see that he isn't afraid to bring his family around to meet the recruits. The more I learn about him the happier I am with this hire.

It may have been TJ Van Koevering,  he and Wiswary could be looking at a package deal.

He must have changed his mind after coach left Alma?

April 2nd article: https://www.ourmidland.com/sports/highschool/article/Midland-High-s-Isaiah-Bridges-is-MDN-Boys-13737023.php :

"Moolenaar, a three-year varsity player who plans to play basketball for Alma College next year, was also Dow's top offensive rebounder. He made the SVL North First Team."

Haven't seen it on social media yet, but an interesting commitment should be known soon … one of the two MIAA schools without a coach will get one of the most widely recruited MIAA/WHAC recruits in Michigan, breaking the heart of another MIAA school.

Pure guess on my part

I've got 3 others if I miss the mark here. ;)

Not sure if this was exactly who SBell was referring to (he was my first guess as well) but...

6-2 G Isaac Davis (Plainwell) will attend Calvin.

Guessing the broken heart is either Albion or Kzoo.

Per Twitter - Brady Swinehart G Ionia will be attending Hope!  Brady was first team all-state D2, scores over 1400 points in his HS career, made 75 3s this past season while averaging 21.5 pts, 4 reb, 2 ast, and 2 stl per game.

Pretty fabulous recruiting class

Rereading this I see it looks bad.  I didn't mean to suggest Hope wasn't involved in recruiting Isaac or wouldn't want him, I just believe his decision came down to Calvin and someone else.  As Steven Bell suggest he was a highly sought after player at the D3/NAIA level in Michigan, including Hope.

Caught Brady once in late February in a Monday night make up game at Mason.  Somewhat ironically he had visited Hope just that morning, which made for a long day for him and it was of course one of his lowest scoring games this past season.  Brady's one of those kids that makes the ball look light on 3-point shots.  He can play the point or the two.

Ryan Clark has been named head coach of the Alma MBB team in a decision that took way less time than Calvin has taken.

The search for a women's coach should be interesting now, though.

I wonder if they even left the building to look for a new coach.

I was thinking the same thing.  If this new guy learned nothing else while working with "Sammy" a tough non-conference schedule might look good on paper, but if you don't win any of them there is a price to pay.
