From what I hear this is quite the bombshell... 

Man, you'd think you guys were guarding a national secret.....

I'm trying to decide if we need a TS or a Codeword clearance for this one. I checked everyone one of the Calvin players twitters yesterday and didn't see anything about a transfer.

Agreed.... silliness

Problem is that some folks want to "break" the story like that will win them a Pulitzer. My take has always been that until the athlete or the school makes some kind of public announcement, it's best to just sit on whatever info you may have.

I couldn't agree more. Especially if players are telling you things that they might feel are confidential. They might not tell you to keep it off the internet but some players might not feel everything they say is worthy of internet material. My general rule of thumb is if I can't confirm a rumor from a non-player then I won't say anything.

Nah, just a pretty good hit to the roster talent wise. Not my place to say who rn.

If it's that serious, why even put it out there except to self aggrandize? Let it unfold naturally rather than create more drama if you're that "concerned" about it not being your place.

It is not a transfer. It is a departure. Surely could change. But also why I'm not saying a name - kids change their minds all the time! Probably doesn't help that there is no coach in place to guide and consult.

It is not a transfer. It is a departure. Surely could change. But also why I'm not saying a name - kids change their minds all the time! Probably doesn't help that there is no coach in place to guide and consult.

Second, isn't the point of a message board to talk and speculate if not pontificate? It's a written sports talk radio. Rumor and speculation are what drive these things. Regardless, life goes on for all of us, most importantly the kid. If it wasn't a potentially big deal, no one would talk. Guess if you just want news, I'd generally suggest other avenues for info. Just my two cents.

Regardless, life goes on for all of us, most importantly the kid. If it wasn't a potentially big deal, no one would talk. Guess if you just want news, I'd generally suggest other avenues for info. Just my two cents.

Some good points on the "purpose" of these boards. I think it can certainly be a tough balance between adding content for discussion and still allowing the athletes some "control".

People are hinting at things but not willing to post it outright (for good reason). If you are not going to post the whole truth then (in my opinion) you have already decided it's not your decision to make it public, so why post it at all.

Why bring it up? Because with all the recent roster talk, it has pretty relevant implications to a team thought to be in the upper tier.
