Hope you like it hot... Ignoring what happened in 2013, Hope would be better if Matt Neil was still the coach

I'm not sure that it's a hot take, HupHolland, but my most memorable game of the last decade--ever, in fact--was Hope's double overtime tournament matchup with IWU. The result was a heartbreaking loss--and who knows what might have transpired thereafter with a win--but the atmosphere was electric, as seen in this Interlude dance that swept the 3500 fans with 3 minutes left . . . as the teams dueled to a regulation draw:

Win or lose, D3 sports--or sports at any level--gets no better than this.
Amazing atmosphere.  Wish I could have been in the building...video stream did not do it justice.

The Interlude dance clearly made a big impact on my alma mater.  Start at 4:30 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6tXMr9ssyXY&feature=relmfu.

Merry Christmas!

Just something fun I thought of... With 2020 approaching, what is everybody's MIAA/D3Hoops "hot take" of the past decade. For example, mine would be if Hope had beaten Hanover in 2017, they go on to win the National Championship. ;D

I agree.  I was at that game and for me it was the most memorable and exciting live sporting event I've ever attended - even though "my" team lost.  I also recall Nate Snuggerud going for back to back career highs that weekend with 37 Friday followed up by 40 against IWU.

There will be a notable absence tonight

Sorry I can't be there, family in town.  Go Hope!

Riley Lewis is no longer a part of Hope's basketball program.   And no I don't know the reason.

So sorry to learn that. He was a joy to watch. Best wishes to him.

Hope plays Illinois Tech tomorrow night, IT beat Olivet by 14 earlier this evening also at Hope.

Ryan Gamm also out today with a concussion.  No timetable on his return.  Jake Honor played a lot and quite well tonight.  Mason Oppel also with an extended appearance.  Height will be an on-going issue.  Got 20 rebounds out of Dykehouse, Thomas, and George.  Everyone needs to crash the boards.

Picking up on something sac tweeted, it's rather bizarre the Holland Sentinel did not even mention the Riley Lewis situation at all in its story on the game last night -- https://www.hollandsentinel.com/news/20191227/granger-scores-27-hope-outlasts-westminster.  Lewis started Hope's first 7 games, and played in all 9 before last night.  Wouldn't you have to say something in the article?

Also seems odd Lewis has been removed from all of the season stats - https://athletics.hope.edu/sports/mbkb/2019-20/teams/hope. Doesn't that mess up all of the season totals, etc?
