Adrian now has an "unpublished" roster, which looks to be only players from last years team who returned.  Missing from last year are Jordan Harris as expected (transferred to D2 GVSU) and Kaleb Swick.  Obviously the loss of Harris is huge, but Swick (if he really is gone) would also be a significant loss.  Averaged 20 minutes per game last year - 5.0pts/3.4reb/1.7ast

Any news on whether there will be a season?

I would imagine we should be getting some kind of news very soon. I noticed Calvin's schedule page has all the non-conference portion removed but the conference schedule remains.

I believe the latest information we have is that the conference announced there would be no league competition until January, which doesn't impact the men's basketball season, but that schools are free to do what they want/can for non-conference games. Perhaps ADs/coaches are in process of figuring out what kind of games they can get scheduled depending on various institutional policies and whatnot.

While it doesn't directly impact any of the D3 leagues out here in the midwest, it's worth noting that last week the NESCAC canceled all winter sports.

This also does not affect any Division III leagues, but it is worth noting that the Division II GLVC is joining other midwestern NAIA leagues in moving forward with a season.  The GLVC begins in November, but will only play league schools.

I think we are about to see a divergence in approach between the elite universities and other leagues, with all the obvious disclaimers about Covid-19 and the various state and local policies.

While looking up the schedules of Hope and Calvin, I found some rather surprising results.   Calvin shows no games until league play and then the games with Hope both listed as postponed.  Hope shows November and December games as still on the schedule, but all league games as postponed.  I'm guessing that what it really means is that everything is till up in the air and to be decided.

NCAA committees are meeting this week.  A lot of decisions with regard to winter sports will be made in the near future.  I suspect a lot of schools and conferences are waiting for these decisions to make their own choices.

To be honest, I don't think anything is being waited on. Championships Committee has already adopted what each basketball committee suggested ... it would be shocking if Management Council said anything else otherwise. We are well above the 50% threshold on championships ... so they are moving forward anyway.

For winter sports, the decisions are going to be school-based primarily. If a school decides to bring students to campus for the spring semester, sports are likely going to be tried. For those who don't, like Swarthmore, athletics will be called off completely. NESCAC will be a rarity from what I am sensing in calling it off as a conference. More like individual schools.

IF we don't slip too close to 50% or below, the tournament will begin after March 7 (basically about two weeks to conduct a tournament of 48 teams). If we dip below that number, THEN schools and conferences will be interested in whether Division III committees decide to cancel winter tournaments as it may just force their hand (if they were on the fence) or they will have to do what individual teams did, like here in the MIAA, for the fall sports.

Trine has posted a revised "pre conference" schedule that includes 5 home games, 2 on the road, and 2 exhibition games, the first against Huntingon from the NAIA on Oct 24 (only a little over a week away), and at DI Kent St on Nov 25.  Regardless of whether the MIAA decides to move forward with a winter season or not I am almost positive Trine will be choosing to play and will find other schools who choose to play.  In looking at the winter conference schedule all are posted with dates and times other than the 2 games against Hope which are "postponed".

It looks like we are all going to be Trine fans for the next few months...  :P

KS, any idea of why the two Hope games are "postponed" . . . perhaps some announcement to come from Hope--which I've understood has been anticipating the MIAA season, though with reconfigured Nov/Dec games (e.g., no IWU trip)?
