From the MIAA press release:

All games were not completed due to COVID-19 protocols, so the seeding was determined by the coaches' postseason rankings.

Perhaps of interest is that the coaches' postseason rankings are spot on with Massey except for having Calvin and Hope flipped. However, Calvin and Hope are very closely ranked by Massey (55 vs. 58 overall) and with Hope having the head-to-head win I think the manual adjustment, so to speak, is obviously warranted.

Tournament Seeding is out. League Champion Calvin will get the #4 seed.

Calvin isn't really going to try and claim themselves as co-MIAA champions, are they?
Let's go Dutchmen!

I'm pretty sure Bill Sall is searching right now for the proper location at Van Noord to put up a banner. It should read: "2021--Undefeated MIAA conference regular season".

I would think Thad Shymanski from League Champion Calvin will be named MVP.

Wait. Did Calvin adopt Hope's banner policy?

My MIAA All-Conference team predictions:

1st Team
Nick Bowman  Trine
Caden Ebeling  Albion
Preston Granger  Hope
Thad Shymanski  Calvin
Cortez Garland  Albion
Cole Kleiver  Alma

2nd Team
Brent Cox  Trine
Evan Thomas  Hope
Emmett Warners  Calvin
Merritt Hamman  Kalamazoo
Eddie Thigpen  Olivet
Kendall Bellamy  Adrian

POY  Nick Bowman
Defensive POY  Nick Bowman

I'd be tempted to flip Warners and Kleiver but otherwise I think this is pretty close.

TUAngola

Final from Angola:  Trine 92 Alma 53

Trine led by 14 at half.  I sensed we didn't have the same energy in the 1st half as in previous games, Alma stayed within striking distance.  Then in the second half Alma outscores Trine 9-2 to start the half to cut lead to 7 and had a good look from 3 to cut it to 4 but the ball rimmed out.  The Scots had a lot of momentum but Trine got a couple of important 3s from Bryce Williams, found their footing and started to distance themselves.  Also Manny Mengnanglo had some great hustle plays that created second chance shots, the Thunder fed off this energy and really picked it up after the first 5 minutes of the second half.

Trine:  Cox 17, Bowman 16, Williams 15, Geller 15, Warzecha 11
Alma:  Kleiver 16, Williamson 10

sac

Hope 99 Adrian 71 F

Six point game at the half, then Hope just blew Adrian away for much of the second half outscoring them 54-32.  Overall solid effort, shared the ball as well as they have to this point but mostly took care of it with a pretty close to season low turnovers.  Adrian had a tough stretch early 2nd half when they couldn't buy a bucket and that's when it got away from them.

Hope:  Gamm 21, Granger 18, George 18, Thomas 11
Adrian:  Pelham 15, Warrick 15, Sheffey 13, Bellamy 11

Gamm's 21 is a career high in likely his final game at DeVos Fieldhouse, his previous high was 8.  Big man had his game on tonight.

Calvin shot about 10% on three-point attempts for much of the game, but managed to hit a few big three late to finish at 22%. Can't shoot 27 of those if you're not going to make at least 35%. Free throw shooting was the standard 47% for the game as well. Can't go down to Trine and shoot like that and expect to end up within 20 points, much less win. Hopefully Calvin can figure some things out before tomorrow.

The Knights were still without Brandon Paul. No clue if he'll be available for the Trine game or not.

Was Brandon Paul the player with one leg resting on a wheeled support to carry it?  I think that was who it was.  So that didn't appear to be anything short term.  Apparently a leg or ankle injury.
