North Central has released its schedule which show the Cardinals playing Hope in Orlando on Dec 28
https://northcentralcardinals.com/sports/mens-basketball/schedule

Its a safe bet this is the semi-annual'ish Hope trip to Orlando played at the RDV Sportsplex.  The last few times they've gone down its been a 3 team get together.  It would appear Hope probably plays Central College on Dec 29.

Hope has not played Central since 2003, 7 times total.  First time Hope/North Central hook up since 2012, 8 previous meetings.

North Central is also playing games at Kzoo and at Olivet on consecutive midweek days on Dec 21/22.

HELP...I'M BEING STALKED....BY....NEGATIVE KARMA GUY.... last post I made here yesterday  (my first post anywhere in several months) expressed my excitement that Hope will be coming down to Orlando this coming season, and also wondering if I'll get to see Calvin play in my back yard at Eckerd.... earned me a negative karma....
ANY TIME I post in MIAA room, BANG, shot by NEGATIVE KARMA GUY... someone is fanatically anti Hope, or Anti Hopefan...

I know, I know, who cares about Karma... but I am very curious why NEGATIVE KARMA GUY does what he does...

it is 9:45 AM and current karma has 150 negative.... how long will it take for NEGATIVE KARMA GUY to strike?

It's what happens here. There are far more contentious boards than this over on the football side of d3boards.com, boards in which negative karma is slung around like hash in a greasy-spoon diner, but this is probably the most smite-heavy board on the basketball side. The Hope and Calvin fans in particular are very passionate about their respective programs and their feelings about their league, their opponents, D3 in general, etc., but it's not simply confined to them. Consider this as the flip side of your perennial gripes about the lack of involvement on your home board, SLIAC men's basketball. In terms of both posts and views, this board runs second only to the CCIW's of all the men's basketball boards on d3boards.com, and I'm sure that you'd love to see that same kind of interest in the SLIAC. But the interest here isn't really casual; these folks tend to have been diehard followers of their respective programs for decades, and they're deadly serious about their rivalries (particularly The Rivalry). Getting smited is practically the price of admission here, especially if you identify with either Calvin or Hope. I actually kinda like it. It's part of what gives the MIAA board personality. ;)

I wouldn't get too stressed out about it. I've known of several long-time posters who've gotten worked up about receiving a steady dosage of negative karma for what they perceive to be no good reason, and I've never really understood their complaints. How does receiving negative karma on a college basketball chat board affect your quality of life? It doesn't even rise to the level of being a First World problem. For example, there is one (non-MIAA) poster who has held a grudge against me ever since I dressed him down for misquoting me a year and a half ago. This poster comes onto d3boards.com pretty much like clockwork on a daily basis and smites me, whether I've even logged onto the site or not. I just laugh it off. If a grown man wants to indulge in that kind of childish behavior, let him. He's not hurting me or anybody else.

Meh, I highly recommend you stop caring about Karma entirely. I would venture a guess that 75% of my negative karma is from 3-5 calvin posters. Sometimes, if my positive karma catches up too close to my negative karma, I post a snide comment about calvin's financial woes or shrinking incoming classes, just to make sure I can still get under their skin. And if I can get one comment to earn me 10 days in a row of smite, I take pride in knowing it really hit home :)

Certainly not your first post here WUPHF, but just in case you previously snuck in under the back fence, you are now "paid in full"...

Both Calvin-Hope games being on Wednesday is an unusual quirk.
Too bad there is no return trip from EMU  ;)

The Rivalry games both on Wednesday is strange.  Probably won't sit too well with those who organize the global watch parties which have always been for the Saturday games.  Maybe it'll be fine, guess we'll see how it goes.

I think this new MIAA scheduling method (no longer playing the other league teams in the same order both halves of the league season) will take some getting used to.  Calvin vs Albion to open and close the MIAA regular season for example - that's a lot of games between meetings.  Not saying it's good or bad, just different.
