This is the officiating crew that called 59 fouls.  Anyone surprised?

Arnulfo Perez was not one of the officials at Albion Saturday.  I recognized two, but don't know their names.

I've seen Arnulfo twice this year, he's been fine.

Just realized Calvin - Kalamazoo get to play each other Mon & Wed this week and the Hornets get to do the same thing next week with Olivet.  Kalamazoo last played a game on Jan 15.

Calvin comes away with their first win at the Rollerdome -- I believe going back several years -- by a final score of 83-65. After some first half back-and-forthing, the Knights led 39-34 at the break. Still holding a slim 48-44 lead early in the second frame, Calvin scored 11 straight and Kalamazoo never got back into the game after that. The Hornets looked like a young team that hadn't played a game lately, while the more veteran visitors from GR shot lights out, hitting 57% from the floor. Morrison led Calvin with 30 points and 8 rebounds, and Marcus Bult added 14. Broadsword and Decker had 14 apiece for the home team. Not an unexpected result, given Kalamazoo's inexperience, and the fact they hadn't played a game in 16 days.

If Albion were to beat Trine tonight, the turnaround of 43+ points would have to be one of the biggest in the leagues history.

And not that teams should need any "extra" motivation in league play, but I think we can be sure the Britons all still feel the sting of that beatdown and want some payback tonight.  Looking forward to watching this game (and I am loving the "game almost every night" thing right now).

To Kalamazoo's credit I didn't feel they came out rusty after their long break. It took a 21-point first half from Luke Morrison for Calvin to take a modest lead into halftime. Where the break may have had an impact was in the second half as the Hornets lost some steam. It felt like the effort was always there but just not enough in the tank to keep a Calvin team that was playing pretty well on both ends from extending the game well out of reach.

Thunder comeback in the last 10 or so to turn the game around for Trine.  Trine scored on all but one possession in the last 8 minutes or so, Brits just really faded down the stretch.

Big win to stay in the race for the Thunder.

1.  Hope  6-1
2.  Calvin 6-2
3t  Trine 6-3
3t  Albion 6-3

Has anyone heard official word that the MIAA Tournament is back to 6 teams this season? The Adrian crew said it would be 6-teams during Saturday's broadcast, but I have not seen this written anywhere that I can recall.

Unless we get a rash of cancellations I'd expect a tournament of 6 teams.
