There is, however, an Indiana University in Pennsylvania.

There's also a California University in Pennsylvania.

It's a shame that the Keystone Staters didn't go whole-hog and found a New Mexico University in Pennsylvania.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around there being a Wabash, IN and a Wabash College in Indiana, but Wabash College is not in Wabash, IN

In fact, they aren't even close to each other. Wabash, IN is a two-hour drive from Crawfordsville. The city is named after the Wabash River, which bisects it. I don't know why the college is named Wabash, since it's a good 25 miles southeast of the river. Perhaps one of the Wabash alumni who post on d3boards.com knows the answer to that. My guess is that Crawfordsville is considered to be within the Wabash Valley, which is a geographic descriptor one often sees in the Hoosier State (a la "Michiana") but which is a pretty vague term for a state as flat as Indiana.

There was a game not to long ago that had to be postponed maybe eventually cancelled because the Indiana NAIA program (IU-Southeast I think) drove to Wabash instead of Crawfordsville.

Pehaps if NAIA schools didn't give out basketball scholarships they'd know better than to drive to the wrong town for a basketball game. ;)

On the surface this seems like a silly mix-up but I'm honestly trying to figure out how this could actually happen. To not at least pull a map you would think the driver knew exactly where to go (which obviously isn't the case) or maybe they had a campus map only and figured the college would be easy enough to find with signage once they got to town (plausible).

I prefer to stick with my NAIA gibe. ;D

(One of my nephews just signed with an NAIA school, and I intend to tease him mercilessly about how that pittance of a hoops scholie his school is giving him is going to drain about 25 points off of his IQ. :D)

Closing the Ryan Clark file at Alma

19-20    7-7   13-13
20-21    0-6     2-12
21-22    4-10   5-19
--------------------------
           11-23   20-34

Coached one year of the Alma women's program in 18-19 seeing immediate big improvements going 15-12, 9-7.  The Alma job opened up suddenly when Hargraves left for Olivet and Clark stepped right in.  He had been at Alma since 2012 as an assistant and was beginning to feel a part of the furniture.

I hope this is Ryan finding a better opportunity in coaching.

I don't have a great feel for the coaching tea leaves these days, but I wonder if Alma might take a chance with a young Ryan Stevens or if he'd even be interested.  (nvm it appears Ryan Stevens has also left Alma)   After years of coaching instability Alma seemed to find gold in Hargraves who stayed 8 seasons which was about 4 more than the previous 3 or 4 coaches, and then went with a young protege in his wake.  I expected Clark to be there awhile.  Certainly was not expecting a coaching search in the MIAA this year.

Home phone, cell phone, e-mail, Facebook, Twitter and home screen, all at the same time.

Definitely one of my favorite episodes of my all-time favorite television series.

NYU gets the bulk of the Division III pop culture references, but Washington University was proud of that one.

I believe the University of Scranton mug is featured in several episodes.

I also like to imagine Andy Bernard actually attended Cornell College but allows everyone to assume it was Cornell University.

It is a shame that the University of Scranton is not profiled in the "Business School" episode.  For all we know, they could be commuting to Lehigh.

Otherwise, there are the early references to the University of Scranton, but in popular culture generally speaking, NYU probably gets more than anyone else.

Andy does make it clear he attended an Ivy League school so that theory goes out the window

A good plot twist could have been that Andy attended Division III Ithaca College but joined Here Comes Treble to live up to family expectations.  But the last few seasons without Michael Scott were barely worth watching, so...  The Dwight antagonizing Andy over Cornell subplot was one of the better stories of that era.
