With a dominating second half, Calvin dispatched Wheaton 77-54. The Thunder clearly have lost a lost of horsepower since last season, and it seemed to me they were fortunate to only be down 4 at the break. The Knights started the second half on a 24-4 run to come away with the easy win. To me, Calvin's most concerning weakness this season, has been the propensity to make foolish turnovers, a habit that continued the opening 20 minutes, but which the home team cleaned up the rest of game. Overway had his way in the paint, going for 26 and 11, while Hedrick led Wheaton with 17.

Calvin's offense really got going when they posted up Ressler and Varnado.    Wheaton was going to limit Overway as much as they could (not much), but Calvin wasn't able to generate 3s off of Overway-double teams in the 1st half. 

Posting up non-Overways in the 2nd half loosened the Wheaton defense up.

Calvin was bigger and stronger at every position.

It was also a bit of the dam breaking. Wheaton being down 4 at half was the closest they could've been, hitting a bunch of long jumpers with under 3 on the shot clock + Calvin missing a few open looks and the aforementioned careless turnovers.
