By the way, that 4,461 was in Salem in 1999 when HSC played Platteville.  Thought I'd mention that since Pat didn't.

Greek Tragedy

3912 at Fort Wayne when RMC crushed Elmhurst by 30 in 2022, a year after the 2 Covid years. The 1st year in Fort Wayne, 2019, 1,710 saw Oshkosh beat Swarthmore. Last year, just 1,268 saw CNU beat the Mount.

Just thought I would mention, the January 29, 1997 game at Van Andel Arena in downtown Grand Rapids, a 70–56 Hope College triumph over Calvin College (now University), established an NCAA Division III single game attendance record with a capacity crowd of 11,442.  I think it is still the record for D3.  I wanted to see this game, but waited too long to buy a ticket; they were already sold out!  Any posters at this game?

I attended the '97 game, which I believe was Aaron Winkle's freshmen year. He would go on to lead the Knights to a national championship 3 years later and win POY honors. For the first and only time in my life, I watched a Rivalry game with a beer in my hands. Never thought that would happen. Almost seemed like spotten, so I didn't tell my devoutly Dutch-Calvinist immigrant dad. He really didn't need to know.

Congrats to Trine!! 2024 National Champions.

Incredible atmosphere at the arena. Trine fans really showed out. Big win for the Thunder in their first NCAA Tournament! Wow!

Greek Tragedy

Box score says 4,546! Definitely a home crowd for the champs. Congratulations Trine.

So is everyone eligible to come back next year for Trine? I believe Trent Cox is done, right? I know Cortez transferred, but I don't know how many years he played at Albion.

Cortez played 4 years at Albion (graduated in 2022).  It seems like his eligibility should be up.

Fred played 3 years at Albion, so I'd be surprised if he didn't use his COVID year and return next year.

Congratulations to Trine!! Nice to have in essence 6 home games on the way to a national title, but it was certainly well deserved. Beating the #1 and #3 teams in the country is no small feat.

Congrats to Trine and Coach Miller, very tough team to beat all year.  Its been a long climb.  Anyone who's made a Final Four will tell you need some luck and good fortune along the way but once you're there anything can happen.  Great season really from start to finish.

Megnanglo, Cortez Garland and Brent Cox are all out of eligibility.

Cortez took the "covid year" or 5th year granted to all NCAA athletes from 2021 despite not playing a year ago.
