Orion Yant - 6-5 195 F Zeeland West will attend Hope next year.  Orion was also an excellent TE/OLB for the Dux FB team, so I'm wondering if he might also be suiting up for Coach Stuursma in the fall as well.

Greenamoyer was honorable mention all-conference at Hanover, a 1000 pt scorer for his career.  Attended University High School, a private HS in Carmel IN, same HS as Trine WBB's Sierra Hinds.

Brenner is a great pick up, was hoping he'd choose Trine.  Comes from same high school as former Trine sharp shooter Bryce Williams.  21.4 ppg 4 reb 2.5 ast 2 stls, 43% from 3, NWOAL Conference POY, First team District and NWO, 2nd team All-Ohio, and 1st team Div 3 Academic All-Ohio (another Trine signee, Eli Keifer was also 1st team Div 3 Academic All-Ohio).

The Trine MBB roster is going to be very grad student and senior laden next season.  Coach likes to keep the Varsity roster to a maximum of around 15 to 16 players.

Roster could look something like this:

Emmanuel Megnanglo - GS
Cameron Awls - GS
Trevor Montiel - GS
Camden Smith - GS
Max Greenamoyer - GS
Fred Garland - SR
Aidan Smylie - SR
Drew Moore - SR
Grant Pahl - SR
Ryan Preston - SR**
Nate Tucker - JR
Logan McKenzie - JR
Hayden Jones - JR
Evan Lumbrezer - JR**
Logan Gard - RS Soph
Jayce Cusak - Soph

**Not sure they will be back as both the Smith and Greenamoyer twitter photos showed them in Ryan's and Evan's jersey numbers respectively, maybe that is just for the photo shoot? but maybe not...

Logan Gard was out all last season mending from off season surgery.  Hoping he can give some minutes off the bench in the post this coming season.

So the above roster is at 16, there will more than likely be some omissions from the list once the roster posts.  This roster doesn't include anyone from last year's undefeated JV team (other than Lumbrezer who played on JV and suited for Varsity)...will any get a shot at Varsity?  Remains to be seen.  Drew Cwik and Colin Shriver suited up for the Varsity at the end of the year, up from JV.  Will any of the incoming freshman make the Varsity?  Maybe Kieran Tewari or Cade Brenner, but again this hinges on how many defections we'll have from last season's roster.

Another Albion commit, Craig Hureskin, Ottawa Hills, 6'1"

Other Albion news:

A few weeks ago, Albion honored two familiar Britons, Marcus Gill '04 and Mike Thomas '06, with the James L. Curtis Alumni Leadership award.

https://www.albion.edu/post/albion-college-to-honor-seven-alumni-during-2024-purple-and-gold-weekend/

Also of note, one of the Distinguished Alumni Award winners, Keith Roberts '81, attended so many of the basketball games when I was in school that we thought he might have a son on the team.  Glad to see a vocal supporter of Albion basketball win the award. ;D

Social media pictures of graduation show only Lamar Lee and Zak Krueger graduating, so hopefully that means AJ Barden and Marco Lucchesi are still planning to return.

I was present to see the destructive dunk in person. As cool as it looks now on video, it was the scariest thing I ever witnessed at a sporting event. Thanking the Lord that Owen's injury appears to be minor, though I think the young man will be sore for a few days.

Charlie Howell 6-5 F Cadillac will attend Hope

Charlie is the third AP Div 1 all-state second team player to commit to an MIAA school joining Albion recruits Craig Hureskin and Noah Vanlaningham.
