alum - not to worry - I'm sure that this allsportball person is just trying to stir up some trouble.  We're probably best to just ignore "the troll". ;D

I'd agree with FDF.  With only 3 posts here to his (current) name, it's more likely somebody thinking they know something they don't, or trolling.  And if he's also over at mlive, he's probably just looking for a fresh audience.  No one with real insider information just comes into a room and spills it -- at least no one with integrity.  Let's wait this one out. 8)

I think this is a bit low for the MIAA, but I guess we'll learn more as the season progresses?

The low ranking for the MIAA doesn't surprise me. Hope is stronger than last year, but most of the remaining teams are weaker. Despite having two teams in the top 7, it seems to be a down year for the men in the MIAA over all. NCAC here we come!  :-[

Nice honor coming up next week at the DeVette Holliday classic.

For those who don't wish to have their computers polluted by the Hope website  :D, Hope is naming the basketball floor DeVette-VanWieren Gymnasium, the volleyball court as DeYoung Volleyball Gymnasium and the weight training facility as the Smith Weight Training Center.

Awesome, I don't think you could attend Hope over the past 30 years and not come into contact with these people in some way.  I've had a chance to meet all of them and played golf with a couple of them.....we won't talk about their golf games.  ;D

Deserving honor, no doubt this building has become a fitting legacy for their influences on the Hope community.

ps I'll take credit for naming the floor DeVette-VanWieren since I suggested that last spring.  8)

Could have named the place DeVos-DeVette-DeYoung-VanWieren-Smith Center.

What a great honor for all these people.  Heck, I didn't attend Hope and was lucky enough to come into contact with some of these people.  Coach Smith is one of my favorites.

How about DeVos-DeVette-DeYoung-DeCenter! ;D

[With apologies to VanWieren and Smith - maybe they could change their names to DeVanWieren and DeSmith.]

i love hope  sports all of them are really great to watch

King's 78
Adrian 68

Bulldogs led throughout it sounded like, but a ton of off the ball fouls late, cost AC the lead and then King's nailed seven staight free throws down the stretch to seal the win.  With all the off the ball fouls, it makes you wonder, in a tight game and all, if there wasn't some homecooking.  ;D

Anyways, Adrian was led by sophomore Brandon Giles' 26 points.  Glad to see this young man wake up and really play.  He could be a first or second team All-MIAA kid if he gets his act together.  Bottom line one of the most talented kids in the MIAA, but sometimes he just doesn't get it.  A Steve Brooks in the making.

Billy Collins Jr. throws in 10 and makes all tournament with Giles.

I listened to the broadcast, so numbers may be off a bit, but pretty accurate.

Happy Holidays y'all!

Adrian drops the Kings Tournament final tonight to Kings College, 78-68.  Looks like the Bulldogs couldn't make a shot inside the last two minutes, and Kings took care of business from the foul line.

Regarding the golf scores, humblingly good, or surprisingly normal, like the rest of us?   :)

Amen to the appropriateness of these honors!  Gives me goosebumps, actually.  There is quite a history in that group, and they are so deserving (although I know at least one of them would probably rather shun the publicity -- he's just that humble).

You suggested it?  Seriously?  Kudos, Sac! ;D

I heard a rumor that Sac was also the one who picked the ketchup choices.  ::)   ;)

How do you guys feel about Albion's place in the poll, merely curious.

As overrated as people claim them to be, I think it's fair right now considering their record from last year and their record this year...Although they lost 2 All-American caliber players, they have done nothing "on the floor" to negate those props--the rankings are theirs to lose...

(which could happen at 9:26pm on 1/11/06)

I'm not sure where the unfounded rumors of Coach Riley's dismissal may be coming from, but it's false info like this that ruins coaches.  A.  This type of material has no place on this board.  B.  Uplift the programs on here instead of ripping on them about every faux pas that may occur.

Nice honor for the Hope contingent.  Wondering IF there will ever be a new coach at Hope...

I might have to bring in Triumph in so he can poop on the newly named Devoss floor. I keed, I keed.

As for Buck, I agree that he is a classy guy. I watched the albion/calvin sectional final last year with him, and can't say anything bad about him. I know Smokin Joe and Buck are good friends, and were tight when Haklin (correct spelling SAC) was still with K.

Please wait until after we kill whatever team that you support. Thanks.

P.S. It is DeVos.
