(...and someone please tell the JCU bench every shot is not an "and one" situation) ;D

You have to admit that on a couple wide open layups it was funny to hear that guy with his red hair and beard scream "And One."   :D

If we're talking about the same guy......I think he has a future as a Dale Earnhardt Jr. look alike.  ;D

Is this the same guy with the headband and high-socks?

That's the guy.  Last year in the tournament game against Albion, he nearly got a technical and had to be restrained by some of his teammates.  The guy is just really into supporting his team, he's always the first one off the bench to give high fives - and is actually one of the captains of the team.  Kind of like having one of the DewCrew be part of the team.

I can understand how a ref would give the guy a tech.  He was amazing.  We were speculating the high socks were to keep himself warm.

I don't know about a record but it sure looks weird.

....and Tniem yes I was talking about that guy!

What the heck -

Let's see if Pat's system has any limit on quoting quotes! ;) ;D

I bet that the guy we're talking about would be proud to know that he is the reason for the quote record.

David Collinge

Things are getting altogether too silly in here.
What say we get back to hoops?

David, Screw the condiments!  How many quotes of quotes can Pat's system handle?! ;D

So far, he is lookin' damned impressive! ;)

Pat always looks impressive, im my opinion. Must be the glasses.
And speaking of our knee-high friend from JCU, it appeared to be quite the moustache, even from the 6th row where I sat. Maybe even rivalling something from the movies.

glad to see you guys are easily amused.  Some interesting games this week to open the MIAA season. One I am curious about is Albion heading to Adrian on Wednesday. No doubt Crawford is far and away the front runner for MVP based on the non conference. However, it seems to me that Adrian is starting to put some good games together. I like this one to be pretty dang close.

There was no bigger coup in the MIAA over the past 4 years then GVW getting Andy Phillips to come to Hope.  He's had a stellar career, but here's to K coming up with someway to stop him and the rest of his dutch cronies on Wednesday. Shock the world baby.
There's only two things I hate in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures and the Dutch.

You might want to be a bit more specific in asking Kazoo to "shock the world."  Another 100-35 would probably do that.

Stinger,

I totally agree.  The results out of Adrian this season show they are legit again.  It could be a very interesting game.

Stopping Andy Phillips is like stopping one cow at the running of the bulls. It's going to take more than one person, and once you do it, you realize you have 9328762938567 other bulls to worry about. I'm not saying it can't happen... I'm just saying kzoo is going to have to have like 10 men on the court to do it.

Stinger:

I think Adrian will be ready for Albion.  The Bulldogs always play well at home, even with the students gone (why is it that Adrian gets a home game against one of the "Big Three" while the students are gone every year?).  They'll play hard, and give the Britons all they want.

sac

I remember the days when it did seem like Kzoo had 10 guys on the court.  ;)

Personally I think Albion wins comfortably, just my opinion.

For any of you out there who want to follow any home Hope games this year, Hope now has a live scoreboard (currently shows the last game played)

Ok I'm not picking on Adrian, and I know the Bulldogs typically play everyone tough at home but....

Adrian's 5 wins vs D3 have come against teams with an overall record of 14-34.  Their last 3 by margins of 5, 2 and 7 against Gettysburg 4-6, Bridgewater 4-5 and Marietta 3-8.  Looking deeper these teams' wins have come against some pretty shaky competition to boot.

They've played 3 D3 teams with winning records, Bethany 7-4, Bluffton 10-1 and North Central 9-0.....all losses by 19, 18, and 23.

True they played Sienna Heights to the wire but thats a bigger game than any they play in the MIAA.

I'm not seeing a close game vs Albion.  Hopefully for the Bulldogs sake I'm wrong.

I gotta agree with you sac - and I imagine most of the Hope faithful will agree  ;)

I'm sure I'm a little bit biased, but I really think Adrian will give the Brits all they want.  I know they don't have any really great wins yet, but they consistently have found a way to compete in the conference the past few years.  They don't have any single defender that can match up with Crawford, but who in the league does?  I think Adrian will try to turn up the defensive pressure and stay close but winning the pts off turnovers battle.  Then again, I could be totally off base ???.  Time will tell, I suppose.

Sac...as a long time Bulldog fan and follower, this is one of Adrian's strangest teams.  But they've been up and down.  AC has had some roller coaster rides.  First Lewis is playing, then he isn't.  Nokovich isn't playing, now he is.  The list goes on and on and if your close to the program there are many more that could be listed.  I think AC needs some time and you'll see their usual fourth place finish.  That's is pretty solid in the MIAA, if you ask me.  You can count on AC to pull off one of their usual upsets at home against Hope, Albion or Calvin and you can count on them to lose a game that they should win like Kzoo or TSU, etc.  All in all you're going to get the same AC team.  A tough team at home and a streaky team on the road.   A team that does it with D and some hot offense, but usually night in and night out is out manned by the big 3.  Not a knock to AC, but more less a compliment to Buck and his staff for getting the most out of the boys when they do beat the Brits, Dutch and Knights.

But in conclusion I don't know what really to expect from AC this year.  I can't really put my finger on them.  But I will tell you this, if Billy Collins scores 20 points or more, AC will be in those games.  If he ain't scoring that means, some rookies must pick it up.  Which means AC will be scratching.

AC already lost Ryan Gallus, a upcoming shooter, that was averaging 10 points per game...done with a torn ACL.  Buck does have some boys that can fill it up.  Really surprised me.

Look for a three gaurd look from AC with Nokovich, Collins and Giles to lead AC to their wins.  By the middle of the season, you can count on these three guys being close to top as a guards as a team.

Should be a shaky contest at AC.  Don't expect many people to be in attendance, as AC is still on break and Texas/USC to boot.

Go Dawgs!
